very nice track for a municipal course. the fairways and greens were in great shape, and staff was very friendly. the front nine plays more wide open, but look out for the back nine. San Saba is known as the Pecan capital of the world, and the back nine is lined with huge Pecan trees. it's nearly impossible to get through the back nine without hitting some trees, so you better be able to bump and run or expect some huge numbers on your scorecard. the course is not crowded during the week, so they only take tee-times on weekends. we played 36 holes in under 6 hours and it only cost $35 each on a weekday. this course is well worth the drive from Austin or Fort Worth.
