Shoots in the 90s

challenging all the way through. front 9 was tight with tree lined narrow fairways; back 9 is more open links style. challenges you to use every club at some point, as the previous reviewer wrote. the greens and fairways were in excellent shape. most of the greens were sloped, and their speed was constant throughtout the whole course. staff is very courteous--someone met us at the car with a cart and took our bags while we checked in.

Customer Service

outstanding. there is a beverage/snack cart that goes around the whole course.

Shoots in the 80s

Well I played on his course the first day it opened and say the potential. I really think that they should have only played the back 9 the first 7-9 months because of the condition of the front nine. It took them 2 tears to get grass to grow on #9 and to solve the flooding problem on #2, but they have. This is one of the most beautiful and challenging golf courses I have ever played on. You will use every club in your bag and have to create some interesting shots. There is a par 5 on the front that I use a 7 wood off the tee and a par 3 I use a 5 wood off the tee.

Customer Service

Great pro shop and facilities.

Olympia Hills is a fairly new golf course in Universal City. As of the enf of 2000, the course hasn't truly matured yet. Still many bare areas in the rough and some greens are still rough. But it's getting better.

Not one of my favorite layouts. Very tight fairways with few opportunities to let loose with a drive. In fact, I found myself hitting irons of most of the tees. Once you miss the fairways, the distance "through" the rough to the "woods" is very short. It's easy to lose a ball just off the fairway.

Too many great choices in San Antonio for golf to put this at the top of my list. I'll try again in a few years after the course has matured and they've had a chance to open up the rough.
