One day in January I had a day to kill and I decided to drive from Las Vegas to St. George, Utah to play Entrada at Snow Canyon. I arrived at the course and the temperature was hovering around 33 - 34 degrees, but being from the east coast, it did not feel that cold due to the desert climate. I pull up to the course to see that there were only about three other cars in the lot. The starter, the restaurant staffer, and one other player. I checked in, got my cart and a hot coffee and headed out. It was amazing!!!! First the thin air due to the altitude, made me feel like John Daly. The ground was particularly hard, which gave the ball even more distance and there was nobody else there for the most part. That being said, the course was really amazing. The front nine played through a true desert environment. The holes were eminently fair, but also very interesting. The back nine was mind blowing. It literally played through an ancient lava field. I didn't even know they existed in this part of the world. Black lava everywhere. If you put a beach behind me, I would have sworn that I was in Hawaii or Tenerife. In any event the day was so great. I shot an 84, it snowed for a while on the 3rd and 4th hole and I was only one of two players on the course which was in excellent shape for off season. I would definitely play this course if I were anywhere near this area.

I was told last summer when I played at a neighbor course that Entrada would be closed to the public as of October 2006, so would check prior.

Spectacular course, great layout. Part of the course winds through a lava field. Miss hit here and forget it, you have a ping pong ball. They have had fungus problems there in the past that have affected the greens.

VERY BEAUTIFUL BUT DIFFICULT COURSE! I PLAYED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY WHEN IT WAS 110 DEGREES! I DIDN'T REALLY MIND THE HEAT THOUGH BECAUSE WE WERE PRETTY MUCH THE ONLY ONES OUT THERE! I ENJOYED THE DIFFICULT LAYOUT THAT REQUIRED VERY ACCURATE TEE SHOTS AND APPROACH SHOTS. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COURSE TO ANYONE WHO DOESN'T GET TOO FRUSTRATED WHEN THINGS DON'T GO RIGHT!

Customer Service

EXCELLENT. CAN'T COMPLAIN ABOUT HOW THEY TAKE YOUR BACK AND PUT IT ON THE CART AND GIVE YOU ADVICE BEFORE GOING OUT.

I have to say this is my all time favorite course. My in-laws live about 90 minutes from St. George and everytime we visit I make it a point to make my pilgrimage. This is by far one of the most beautiful courses you''ll every see. The red rocks and panoramic views are almost distracting, take a camera. the fairways are narrow but fair, I take a 2 Iron and don''t have any problems. The grees are somewhat small and demand accurate shots from the fairway. The 15-17 are real eye openers, don''t get complacent, even if you''re playing well, you''ll need all your focus to score. As to the condition of the course, it''s immaculate. Fairways are lush but not thin, the greens are definetly fast. play in the summer and it''s only 35 bucks, can''t beat that. Also, the carts have the GPS system in them for accurate yardage and you can order food over it. If you go through St. George make sure you stop at this course.

Customer Service

Super nice people, first time I went I had no tee time and I waited all of 5 minutes to get out.

Played Entrada Saturday, (2/2/02). First, I want to say it''''s a beautiful course with postcard views. The greensfees seemed steep for the St. George area, but you get what you pay for. The range is top notch with complimentary range balls, good putting and chipping greens and a nice clubhouse. As for the course, it was a love/hate relationship. This course will bring you to your knees with it''''s narrow fairways, small/undulated greens and high winds. It was a very windy day for me and that made the course that much more difficult. The holes that are set in the lava rock were extremely challenging. Forget looking for your ball if it goes in the lava rock... even if you find it, it will be chewed up. This course will please the single digit handicappers, but for me (I''''m play off an 18), it was a little TOO challenging. I parred and bogied many holes, but there were holes where I really blew up on, scoring triple bogies and one quadruple bogey. The greens, being small, require a high, or spinning approach shot or the will roll off leaving you no shot or an extremely difficult shot to get back up on the green. I''''m glad I played it, but I doubt I''''ll play it again any time soon... not until I improve my game enough to warrant challenging this course again. Bring your camera as this course is beautiful!

Customer Service

Acceptable. Nothing to rave about, but not bad either.

Wow. This is the beautiful flower that blooms in the desert. Sorry for the poetry, but it is one incredible course. I went in the summer at 6:00 am, before the heat set in, and got on with a cart for only $35 (half-price in summer because it gets so hot). The only competition for my time was the lawnmower man that kept crossing my path. The course plays long, especially from the back tees, and the layouts can be really tricky. If you ever visit St. George, UT, make sure you play this course.

Customer Service

Friendly, very willing to work with you, even if you are just a casual golfer like me. Couldn''t have been better.

If you don't love this one it's either because you're a wuss or the course kicked your butt. Spectacular red rock country course with condos around the edges. Fair amount of water and some sand. Last four holes enter the lava fields and totally change the mood of your game. Hop scotch target golf. Not the toughest Johnny Miller course but one of the prettiest. Play this one as part of a group including Green Springs, Sunbrook, Coral Canyons, and the Mesquite, NV courses (Oasis and Palms).

Front 9: beautiful, narrow, red rocks, canyons, water somewhat forgiving to mis-hits.

Back 9: narrower, deeper canyons, lava beds from 15 to 18, nerve wracking, awesome.

Played on 9/23/2000. Course condition was excellent, with the exception of a couple of tee boxes. Greens were *fast*

Weather: stiff SW wind from a passing cold front made a challenging course even more so.

We will return as golfers are a masochistic lot.
