By all means, play this course if you want a dog track managed by cretins who couldn't care less about their customers.

Customer Service

Nonexistent.

I have been playing golf for over 20 years and I don't think I have ever experienced course marshalls as rude as those at Fairfax National. Although our group (3 of us) had to wait for 5-10 minutes on nearly every hole, the oblivious marshalls admonished us for slow play twice. I REFUSE to hit into the group ahead of me, even if directed to do so by course personnel. It got so bad that we saw other groups being consistently hit into by the groups behind them. Can it possibly be that important to squeeze a few more golfers in on a weekend. This was quite possibly the most unenjoyable round I have EVER experienced. Furthermore, I was looking for a course to host an annual event for our clients AND guess which course just go scratched off the list----you guessed it---Fairfax National.

I've played this course many times and each time the starters get worse and worse. Overall the course is a very challenging course, but I will never play here again until they get new starters. My friends and I where thinking about having a tournament and on the day we got info on their sch. for tournaments the starter decided to take his frustration out on us. So we went down the street to Westfields and had the tournament there, excellent course by the way. The last thing you need before you try to enjoy a nice round is some hot head starter pissing you off. He was so bad the group behind us where telling us to go to management.

I''m a good golfer. Very good golfer in fact. This course was fantastic. The greens were tightly waxed and running fast. I found the fairways ran quite well. I have a hell of a draw and the ball was getting a good run on my drives (about 290-315yrds). Tee boxes need a little TLC. Not enough bunkers. I like to beach a few whales if you know what I mean. Cart path only gets old after the first approach shot. I played all 27 holes here, they were all great. Fun Course.

Shoot in the 90s

We played the Anteitem & Widerness nines. The Wilderness 9 was a bit more open. We found the greens to be both hard and slow, perhaps due to being too long. The tee boxes were in nice shape, although they were a bit uneven. The fairways were in excellent condition, but this is early May. Most holes, but not all had a second cut around the fairway. Overll it was a satisfying experince, even if there weren't any truly memorable holes. It must have been a Rees Jones design.

Customer Service

The proshop staff was excellent. The starter busted my chops for coming up the fiarway on 9, which I didn't do. He failed to admonish a friend for yelling to someone 150 yards away. I later say the starter playing 9 and riding up the fairway. Kindda funny, like a cop speeding without lights and a siren
