Shoots in the 80s

I play the Gunston course about 5 or 6 times a year, when I am over. The reason I keep coming back to Ft. Belvoir is simple, 1) It''s a long way to drive to McGuire and 2) The friendliness of everyone there. The course itself is always kept in a nice form, with the greens being maintained to a very high degree. The range is good because it gives long hitters the ability to shoot a few more yards because the ball is allowed to descend.

Customer Service

Very,very good, almost unparalelled

The food is good, and the bar is also good. Belvoir is a nice facility because it isn''t to far from the District.

My father and i were in Va to visit my sister. We played the Gunston course. The condition of the course was great. The greens rolled true and fast. No problem getting tee in ground or finding a flat lie on the tee boxes, they were flat , soft and plush. If you spray the ball or short side the greens it will make for a long day.An A+ all the way around for this course.

Shoot in the 90s

I played a captians choice tournment there in early May. the course was in great condition. The course offered a lot of easy holes and a lot of challenging holes. I am not sure which course I played. Both 9's straddled the access road. I though may of the holes were imaginative in design and challenge.

Shoot in the 90s

The north 36 at Ft. Belvoir have two great courses. Gunston, which is said to be a couple strokes higher, is absolutely beautiful. After visiting the starter, the average player will need to go to the range and put their golf bag under the ball dispenser. This course, with it's many, many rolling hills manages to eat balls by the case. The layout of the course makes it vital to look at the layout on the back of the card. Most greens are large with relatively friendly pin placements. Don't go too long on the 180yd 18th or you'll smack the club house! And don't go too short or you roll the whole way back!
