Played late Spring '05 "5 Star Public!" Played Fall '05 "5 Star Cow Pasture!" There wasn't a weed to be found early season... Now you can't help but step on one with every step you take, and that includes the putting green. Simply put, the town ran out of money or they fired the superintendent and if they didn't fire him, they should. AVOID PLAYING THE $40 COW PASTURE!

Customer Service

Friendly at the Pro Shop but no where to be found on the golf course!

Shoots in the 100s

have played several times and each time wonder why I came back. No starter, let too many on the course, charge high rates considering the course, no cart service, no grille in the afternoon, no ice water, nothing, even when its 95 degrees out, even vending machines don't work, course is a mess, yes its been a tough summer but the greens are just mud, the fairways are full of grass clumps, the tee boxes are awful, hope they can get this back in shape sometime but they really don't seem to care about the course, the carts are not even cleaned out

The course is overall a little short but the greens are quite challenging. Every green is contoured. The rough is a little too unkept however which leads to alot of lost balls in wide open space which we all know is pretty aggrevating! Fairways are in good shape as well as Tee Boxes. Some fairways tree lined and most holes have slight dog leg that puts a premium on accuracy off the tee (something I don't have, hence a round at 102). Course not crowded at all which was awesome. Having to criss cross across the freeway is also a little annoying.

Shoots in the 90s

I have played this course several times and everytime it was either raining or just our right muggy. One plus that this course offers more than any other are all the birdies on each hole. Not of the scoring chances but more of the feathered breed. There are ducks all over the place, and many times come into play, especially the second shot on some of the longer par 5's. In regards to the course itself, it offers a lot of variety. Short, long, flat, and hilly holes always offer a new challenge. The greens are smooth, the play is quick compared to many other courses in the area. The only downfall is the back nine, after playing some of the nicest holes in the area on the front side, the back tends to lose its character. Many of the holes become too open and too predictable.

Herndon Centennial is a good golf course for the beginner looking to hit some fairways and play at a casual pace. The course as a whole plays very short; with 2 par 3's playing at 100 yards and very few par 4's playing over 425 yards. A motor cart is a must, as a Highway bisects the course, causing players to cross over a bridge multiple times to reach some tees. One major negative is the amount of grass clippings in the rough that caused the loss of many golf balls. Overall an enjoyable course and a reasonable price.

Customer Service
