Shoots in the 80s

(I used to work as a groundskeeper at this particular golf course, therefore not only did I get to play it countless times, I even got the honor to cut all the grass!)

One word: Beautiful. That can sum up what is easily one of the BEST courses not only in the Hampton Roads area, but the entire state. Where the course lacks in its diversity (only 18 holes), it makes up for in its well maintained fairways, perfectly cared for roughs, and its absolutely (and I do mean ABSOLUTELY) perfect greens.

Water makes its appearance known in 5 of its 18 holes, and the degree of difficulty is kicked up a notch compared to the other local courses, with its towering trees, numerous greens surrounded by SOFT (repeat: SOFT) bunkers, and longer-then-Hampton Roads standard holes. (I.E. You won't play a short 403 yard par 5 on this course)

Unfortunately, this course is strictly PRIVATE, and as far as chat i've heard through the grapevine goes, unless you've got some serious dough, becoming a member isn't going to be an option. Therefore, if you ever, EVER, encounter a friend, family member, or hell, even a employee of the course, that is offering a chance to play this "king of the HR courses", cancel whatever it is you were/planned on doing, grab your clubs, and go experience the chance of a "Hampton Roads lifetime"

Customer Service

It depends on who's actually asking.

Member: The employees are there to kiss your rich @$$ to begin with, so you can bet CS will be excellent for you. This course was one of the last remaining courses that offered a caddy, but has since removed that option entirely. (I got to help destroy the caddy shack, it was awesome!)

Anyways, the guys are even nice enough to pull your clubs out of storage (if you choose to keep your clubs there) and put it on a cart when its nearing the time for you to tee off, and of course, anything else you could possibly ask, im sure they'd be happy to serve.

Employee: Just stay out of their way. The folks there are very friendly reguardless, but remember, they do have a job to do, and if your just there to get a free ride, they're not gonna exactly be bending over to meet your needs =)

Interesting to note, this course has a "Beer girl" drive around the course possibly about...say, 5 times a year (much to my dismay...) and there is absolutely NO marshall....apparently all the retired doctors and lawyers are expected to play nice with each other. Other then the occasional grounds worker, you will not run into any authority figure on the course

I can only compare this course to a array of courses that i've played in Myrtle Beach, SC. The course is beautiful, and when you drive through the gates leading in, you'll feel not only like your going to enjoy the best round of golf in your life, but also that you've left Hampton Roads entirely and are now floating away into some perfect, golf heaven..If you can play it, enjoy your round =D
