Shoots in the 90s

Mill Quarter should be an excellent course, but it isn't. The course is well designed, but the owner is a tightwad who won't spend a dime to improve the course and everything is in poor condition. The golf carts are old and worn out. The fairways are rock hard and the grass is poorly maintained. Tee boxes are often bare. Bunkers are filled with a nasty combination of sand, clay and stones and don't resemble any bunkers that I've ever seen on any other course. On the rare occasions that marshals are on the course, they just ride around and do nothing about slow play or encouraging slow groups to let others play through. MQ was probably once a great course, but now it's just a dog track. Sad.

Horrible. Absolutely horrible. Fairways were burned out and rock hard. Bare hardpan everywhere, especially around the greens. Most bunkers had no sand, only a heavy sandy/dirt mixture that was almost unplayable. Scorecards were printed up on a photocopy machine. I knew we had made a bad choice when we pulled into the parking lot on a perfect Saturday afternoon (85F and sunny) and there were only a dozen or so cars in the parking lot. Definitely not worth the drive from Richmond.

Customer Service

Excellent. Everyone was very polite and friendly.
