Shoots in the 80s

I strongly advise against joining Hidden Creek. First, the course is an old-style parkland track that is very poorly laid out, uninteresting, and not in the best of shape. Think of a bad muni. To hit balls on the driving range, you must get into a cart at the clubhouse and drive across--literally across a fairway. A huge pain in the butt. The good news is that you can easily hit players on two different fairways from the driving range. Moreover, the course plays extremely slow--count on 5 hours. The club is extremely, and I mean extremely, crowded and I believe they far surpass their stated membership. If you are joining a private club to get away from the crowds, this is not your place. At the same time, they hold tournaments on weekend mornings just to jam up play for the entire day. The old clubhouse has seen better days, and the lunch menu is awful -- think fried everything. And let me also mention that we continually received overcharges on our monthly bill. We ended up hardly ever playing the course during our 18 month preview membership. Aside from location, I would stay far away from Hidden Creek.

Most local public courses are better values and better courses. Check out Brambleton, for example.
