Play here alot, great fun course. Only wanted to note the Architect was Fred Findley, he designed more courses in Virginia than any other man. Between 1910 and 1935 he designed several courses which still rate as the best in the state- examples, Bide-a wee, CCofVa. james river course- site of 2 U.S. amateurs, and where Nicklaus for the first time met Bobby jones, and numerous courses between charlotesville and tidewater. Most of his courses were later spruced up by big names, Ross, Flynn, Rees Jones, but they are all similar in basic shot-making values, even to this day, yes even 16 dollar glenwood. Play a piece of history with great greens at Glenwood, just don't get yourself stuck behind a group of 7 asians thinking they are playing the U.S. open and 94 is par. long day indeed. go on and hit into the little jerks, that'll speed them up.

HOW GOLF SHOULD BE. NO ONE IN CLUBHOUSE ACTING LIKE THEY ARE DOING ME A FAVOR BY LETTING ME PLAY. NO TEE- TIMES TAKEN. NO OLD MAN STARTER. NOT THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BUT HOW GOLF SHOULD BE. PAY AND PLAY. GREAT GREENS. GREAT LAYOUT. GREAT VARIETY OF HOLES. FAIRWAYS AND TEES ARE NOT SO HOT BUT FOR THE PRICE THEY ARE FINE. QUICK PACE OF PLAY. FEELS OLD, LIKE IT HAS SET ON THE LAND FOREVER. NO MOGULS, NO B.S.KIND OF SAYS FROM THE TEE- HERE I AM, COME AND GET ME. IF YOU ARE SMART YOU CAN SCORE HERE. LOOKS LIKE NO TROUBLE ANYWHERE UNTIL YOU GET LAZY AND START FINDING BIZARRE SIDEHILL LIES WITH THE BALL WAY BELOW YOUR FEET. PAY ATTENTION AND YOU WILL BE FINE, GET COCKY AND YOU WILL GET SMACKED. GREAT PLACE TO PICK UP A MATCH WITH A COMPLETE STRANGER WHO CAN ACTUALLY PLAY.
