This is one of the nicest courses in the Roanoke area. It is challenging in that the greens roll fast, and there is hardly a level lie in the fairways. It creates a pleasant challenge, and keeps you working for par all day long. I reccommend this course to all golfers, but the newer golfers will need to think for the safe play on a few holes (You will see what I mean when you play it). Play here if you enjoy great golf.

Condition

Almost every fairway is sloped to one side or the other. Keeping the ball in the short grass was sometimes a matter of local knowledge and good bounces.

Played April 19th. Best course in the Roanoke area as far as overall course condition. Tees were excellent, fairways almost perfect. A couple of the greens were newly re-done, but even they were in good shape, if a little bit bumpy.
It is a fare test for the average golfer, never asking you to do something heroic like carry your tee shot 250 yards over water, or shoot in blind to a hidden green. Very pleasant experience. Nice friendly staff. I shot in the 90's and still left smiling.
