Devil's Knob is a beautiful mountain course (it boasts the highest elevation of any course in Virginia). With one or two exceptions, you can pretty much leave the driver in the bag. With narrow, unforgiving fairways, vicious rough, and deep woods, course management is top priority. There are a couple elevated tee boxes which tempt you to pull out the big dog, but once your ball gets up in the swirling winds, it's anybody's guess as to where you'll end up. THe greens are always in great shape, a couple of greens are so severely tiered and sloping it's almost unfair. But smart shots are rewarded. Course management should be your foremost thought... All in all, it is a beautiful course, tough but worth the ride. Customer Service Top Notch! (Whaddup Chris!)
