Olympic is a nice course, peaceful setting, well-maintained, very reasonably priced. Challenging but not impossible. Easy access from Seattle via Bremerton ferry,

The only issues I could raise are that I would like a greater variation in scenery - no views of any nearby mountains - a few holes were a bit gimmcky - like an highly elevated green you can't see - and there's regular noise on the back nine from nearby practice range fire, but these are minor issues and this course is still worth visiting.

Customer Service

Very good, nice people.

I've been playing the Cascade Course on a pretty regular basis for the past year since moving to the Northwest. Also played the Olympic course on occasion (fees approx $60 during peak season for Olympic as opposed to $37 Cascade)

From the moment you set foot, you can't believe that this is a municipal course. It has a great blend of appealing to the public course player with a little more upscale feel.

I can't say enough good things about this complex. Cascade offers very affordable, quality golf on a generous course in great condition year round. You won't lose too many balls, yet the hole layouts are challenging, diverse, and the greens are fast and in good shape.

Olympic is the big draw (hosted U.S. Publinks recently) and will be hosting other high profile events. Olympic is extremely challenging in comparison to Cascade and is a very good humbling experience after getting used to hacking around Cascade.

You can tell that the holes on Olympic are tuned to challenge skilled golfers while Cascade offers a nice weekend round with enough challenges and good course conditions to make it enjoyable.

If you live in the Seattle area, highly recommend taking time to play both courses. Be prepared to play ready golf, the marshalls are enforcing 4 hr rounds pretty heavily which makes pace of play nice.

Customer Service

Friendly staff, always have had good experiences.

wow... this is such a great course. probably my second favorite in WA, and I have played many. some of the, wait, most of the holes were so good that you could remember them the rest of your life. i played tips which were 7300 or so yards and shot 85, so the course isnt the most difficult in the world. if you are in WA, you have to play this course and Washington National. What a treat!

Customer Service

very good and welcoming. my dad and i were pleasantly surprised because there were so many people at the course. still, they seemed to meet everything we needed and much more.

If you play golf in Western Washington and don't play at Gold Mountian, you are missing a real treat. The combination of great courses, excellent year-round conditions, scenery and especially low prices makes this the best golf value available.

The older Cascade course is very traditional, with generous fairways and large greens. Holes run adjacent to each other but are separated by mature fir trees. You can spray the ball around a bit on the Cascade course and not lose too many balls. The elevated tee shot on the par four 15th is one of my favorites. There are several steep hills to negotiate, but this is a great walker's course.

My only beef about the Cascade course is the impact of several changes made in conjunction with the expansion of the driving range several years ago (coincident with the opening of the new Olympic course). To expand the range they shortened the old ninth hole (now the 18th), which was formerly a sporty par five, into a modern par four which really doesn't fit the style of the other 17 holes. At the same time they flopped the nines around, so you now start on the old 10th hole, which is about all the par four you can handle; it's not the number one handicap hole, but it is a tough way to start a round. Why they turned the nines around is beyond me: In addition to starting on one of the toughest par fours, you now finish on the new, tricked-up par four 18th instead of the reachable par five that is now the tenth hole. I always prefer to finish on a par 5 that offers the chance for redeemption.

The new Olympic course is a pure gem that mixes a more modern design (fairway bunkers in play, multi-tiered greens, subtle mounding, lots of variety) with the overall quality and scenery that the older Cascade course offers. In a lot of areas of the country you would pay $75 and up for a round on a course that matches the quality and challenge of the Olympic course. At Gold Mountain it's about $35. For crying out loud, stop reading this, tell the boss you're feeling sick, get out of the office and go play!

Customer Service

The guy that runs this operation has done a great job. You'll be treated as well at Gold Mountain as any resort course for a fraction of the cost. Sure they might not clean your shoes for you or store your clubs overnight, but what do you expect for 35 bucks?

As of yet, I have only played the Cascade course. Getting reservations for the Olympic course on a short-range basis is difficult. In any event, probably one of the very best municipal courses on the Pacific Coast. Course conditions are consistently excellent. Great areas for putting and chipping practice. The Cascade course is challenging enough for anyone, yet most fair. The setting is beautiful.

Gold Mountain has two distinctive golf courses: the Olympic and the Cascade. (Named for the local mountain ranges.)

Both courses are terrific. Frankly, if you have played in Hawaii or Arizona you will find these courses a bargain.

Spectacular views of the mountains, misty mornings, wonderful greenery. The total ambiance adds to what golf is really all about...a sensory experience combined with a sporting challenge.

Book well in advance and enjoy what will be a great round of golf.
