Lake Cusman is located just up the hill of Hoodsport, WA. Surounded by trees and with wonderful mountain views. It is not unusal to see complete families of deer and other wildlife, which surprisingly is not afraid of people at all and shows it, but simply watching the golfers going by and doing their thing. This 9 hole golf course is not an easy one. Although not the longest, it is an almost complete challenge for every level of golfer. Starting with a par 5 straight, some uphill at the end. OB on the right make it a tough hole. Warmed up you are playing a very short par four. Some could reach it with a driver, but there is trouble on the left, OB on the right and a big tree which suggest to lay it up. #3 is a straight downhill par 4. Again, one could reach it, but the fairway gets narrow infront of the hole.#4 is a nice par 3. Over a ditch you are hitting on a by a large bunker protected green. Trees everywhere give it a tough outlook. #5 is a dogleg left. It is pretty long, but wide open. So hit your driver right of the trees and you get a good shot at the green. #6 is a nice par three. Looks tight, but there is plenty of room to the left. So go rather left then right, but not too much. #7 is a fantastic golf hole. A par 4/5 depending on the tee. You need to hit a long drive between a huge tree and OB all along the right. Your second shot is on to a green which has a pond on the right and a stream in front of it. It is a tough, but wonderful hole. #8 gives you some rest. A par 5 which is straight ahead and has no obstacles. # 9 is a very nice finishing hole. Narrow fairway, big tree on the left, OB on the right. A good tee shot is essential to get a good score. 2nd way around the tees are changing a little. This makes it a nice 18 holes.
The greens are in super shape. Very fast. All fairways are in good shape. The entire course is well taken care off. Compliments to the greenskeepers. There is an ok driving range (good prices) and a good putting and chipping area. The clubhouse is small, but cozy. There do not have much to sell and there is no food. But it is ok for a short stay. All is clean and organized. E carts are available and clean and in good shape. I very much like this course and the value is a good one.
There could be some more bunkers on the course and the clubhouse is not used to its potential. It would be nice to get a burger or something there for lunch. The proshop is not well situated and not stocked to good, but you get some balls, tees and so on.

Customer Service

The people working there are mostly retired guys and girls from the area. This makes it a nice and stressless atmosphere. They take care of you and do the best to help you with all your needs.
Making a tee time is easy and although they are sometimes a little slower, everybody gets what they want and need.
