Going to this course for the first time I had high expectations. I left very disapointed. The layout is nice and the course can be challenging at times. I was most disapointed with the greens, and the fairways had too much dead grass. The greens were in terrible condition. The 7.00 par 3 course I take my kids to has better condition greens. Fairway grass should not be dead at a course of this caliber. Hole number 4 has a beautiful fountain running down the right side of the fairway. It was surrounded by weeds as tall as 3 feet, which gave me the feeling of being at a second rate course that does not take care of its landscaping. My complaints with this course all have to do with the lack of or poor quality of maintenance. With all the hype I read in the Golf paper about this course I was expecting alot more. I paid 15.00 to golf twilight and would not even go back to do that again. There are much nicer courses much closer to home that have twilight or regular rates at half the cost of Meriwoods.

Customer Service

Condition of the Tee areas are usually in outstanding shape, a few of them are in the shadows and don't get enough sun to get good growth, however, the Super has noticed this and has started removing the trees. The greens at Meriwood are bent grass, they are very undulating, and usually very quick. Number 16 has a shelf from left to right that has about a six foot change in elevation (scary). The course was rated at 75.1 and a 135 slope from the Black Tee's, if they let the rough grow a couple of inches this course would be brutal. Meriwood use to hold the Monday qualifier for a Nike tour event held at Indian Summer CC. Overall, an excellent facility. During the month of January I have played 4 rounds of golf including a cart and range balls for less than $100.00. Prices do go up in March to around $50.00 per round.

Customer Service

Tee Time service very easy to use.

Food service is adequate, nothing spectacular just typical food and quick service. Pro shop is always helpful, but seems to be understocked on equipment.

Shoot in the 90s

Meriwood is a unique course in the Pacific Northwest and really with courses in general. They had an almost unlimited area and landscape to work with.

The course is VERY spreadout..you must use a cart. Throughout the 18 holes you virtually see no other golfers, hole or fairway. This isolation allows you to focus on the hole at hand and your game.

Water challenges abound and there are mid-fairway bunkers that rival Scotland. Fairways themselves are the groomed the best in the Pacific Northwest.

Slightly expensive for this region, the course itself doesn't disappoint. Often there is more rain in this Pacific Northwest "convergence zone" than many other courses.

Meriwood has a package deal with it's sister course that provides an ideal golfing excursion. Enjoy!
