Shoots in the 90s

The Meadows Golf Course in Peabody, MA is an interesting course. The first 9 holes are a links design and shots are affected by the wind. The back nine then turns to a mountain design because of all the granite. This course is well designed and is extremely challenging. The first hole is a par 5 which tests your ability because of the wind and subtle change in elevation. This is a three shot hole if there ever was one. You really don't get a reprive from the length until the 6th or 7th hole which is a par three, but it is long and downhill and you shoudl take two less clubs there. the back nine is a hodge podge of holes and elevation is the name of the game here. On the 11th you are hitting up a severe hill with no flag or direction finder. The 14th or 15th hole is uphill and dogleg to the left and you should be on the right side to get a good view of the hole.

Shoots in the 90s

This course is definitely not very complex, but it is good for practicing shorter shots. It is most par 3 and 9 hole, build on a couple acre area of land. There is not much fairway to work with on a few of the holes, which were soggy with the early morning dew. By afternoon, the course was dry and was in good condition. I like to play this course whenever I am in Lake Chelan because of the good price and the fast play.
