A decent course, owned by the Navy but open to the public. Monday is the low-cost day. Course is in good condition, good greens, medium speed, decent fairways, although a little wet in winter but still very playable. Stays in good condition all summer. Strategy is not usually challenging, but some thought is required. #1 is short, almost drivable opening hole, with some thought required. #2 is plain. #3 is challenging uphill 3. #4 is odd 90degree right turn. #6 is a gem of a view. #7 might be my favorite. #9 is interesting par 5. #11 is short but challenging with Hell bunker in front of right side of green. #13 slopes hard to left the whole way, especially the green, almost unfair. #15 is gorgeous par 3. #16 is up and down par 5, reachable in 2. #18 is good short finishing hole. Strait of Juan de Fuca in view nearly everywhere, and Olympics beyond. Driving range is now mats, unfortunately. Putting green is sloped terribly and small. Not a lot of sand, and what is there is wet, but it adds interest.
