All of the Kitsap peninsula courses are good values. Horseshoe is one of my favorites, along with Gold Mountain and McCormick Woods (plus Madrona for a quickie). I've played here several times this summer--never seem to catch the cart girls in chaps, though! It is a challenging course that you need to think your way through, you also won't have that "I've already seen this hole today" feeling ... each one is unique. Doglegs, left and right, blind greens and water hazards, long carries over ravines, big elevation jumps that require 2 extra clubs, and screaming descents. Take a cart and you'll enjoy it more. Nice restaurant with view of 2 holes through big windows. If you pick up an internet special, this is one of the best values in the Northwest. I've played good and bad rounds here, but always had a great time. Well groomed, but you will lose errant shots into the trees, as with almost all NW course.

Another golf course that is WAY overpriced for what you get. They have tried to charge what other courses in the area do (Trophy Lake, McCormick Woods and Gold Mtn), but offer very little compared to those others. The mandatory cart on the back 9 is a JOKE! This should be optional. For the younger or in good shape player, this is very easy to walk.

Have to say is one of my favorites in the area. Very nice course although a little out of the way. I love the 14th hole were you have to carry the ball over like 1760 yards of long grass. Anyways it is a fun course that I recommend

Customer Service

WOW!! What a great course! We had a group of 12 play thee for an annual family tournament, and there was not one negative comment! We all were first time players at Horseshoe Lake, and it is already on our list to play again next year! The people working there were nothing short of fantastic, and the course played beautifully!

Customer Service

Absolutely "A1". The cart girls were charming and beautiful, and made the round very enjoyable!!

You need to watch the movie: "Little Shop of Horrors".
In the film, Steve Martin plays a sadistic dentist and Bill Murray is his masochistic patient. Martin is frustrated as the more severe he becomes the more Murray enjoys the pain.

This scene exemplifies Horse Shoe Lake. Narrow, nasty and challenging. You almost being to laugh as you face absurdly narrow fairways and distance combinations that require the precision of a Tiger Woods. (There are major blind greens as well.)

In the end you will find the challenge fun and the course worth a repeat experience. Not well known, worth the hunt.
