I was looking through our daily paper and came across a sweet deal this course was offering $25.oo for green fees and cart. "Cha Ching". After years of playing near by Gold Mt and other public courses this course was a welcome break. My father had played this course a few times and said that it was a course I should check out. He was right.

Awsome!! The people working in the Pro shop will bend over backwards to make your visit a good one. I felt while checking in that I was some sort of VIP and no that's not an exageration. Offering free tee's it was the small things like that, that made dealing with he workers here a good one.

Not as impressive as I was led to believe judging by the other reviews I read here. It was a let down. The course is in fine condition, but it''s not nearly as scenic or as challenging as I was expecting. The housing on the front nine takes away from any feeling of being out in nature. There are a few really nice holes on the back, but I was fairly disenchanted by the time I got to them. Basically it''s got the feeling of a housing community with the golf course as a condiment.

By far the best course in the area. While Trophy lake and Gold Mountain provive great golf, McCornick Woods has stepped up as the best, both with value and conditions. The course is impecible, large contouring greens that roll true. The course was in beatiful shape and was challanging even to a very experienced player such as myself. All I can say is get out there and play one of the best.

A scenic, challenging course that is weel worth the day trip that it takes from most areas of Western Washington. This course opened about 15 years ago and really helpes cement the Olympic Penninsula as a golf destination.

The fairways are generally tight, with OB a factor on some holes due to the proximity of the housing that has been added to the course over the last ten years, so accuracy off the tee is probably the biggest key to success here. There are five tee boxes on just about every hole, and inexperienced players should consider moving up to the red tees (where the slope is still 119 for men) to help keep things enjoyable.

Water comes into play on several holes, and strategy is crucial on dogleg holes such as the par five ninth and the par four 12th.

The greens are large with plenty of contour. Over the years the speed and consistency of the greens has varied widely. You may find that some greens are grainy and slow, while others roll true and fast. Other than the inconsistency of the greens, course conditions are always excellent.

You can make tee times five days in advance. Call ahead for direction because it's not the easiest course in the world to find.

A resort course atmosphere. Nice driving range, chipping areas and practice green. Decent restaurant and a nice clubhouse.
