Shoots in the 90s

I play this course often and it is always fun. The holes are memorable with many different kinds of holes. The 17th hole is a very hard par four that play like a par 5. The last hole is a very fun island green par 3 that has a generous landing area. If you live in the area buying a Oki Card is a must!

Customer Service

The pro shop people are nice. And the grill is also very good.

Well this is a fun course and I always have enjoyed playing here. The course has long rough but needs it as the back tees are just 5900 yards now. I still say this is a great course that most people will like-not love-, but still will remember the course. the island green on the last is cool but it is large. I think, however, it is stupid to make an isalnd green that is super small. there fore they have succeeded with the island. with rocks and a huge pond with a waterfall and a beautiful clubhouse in the backround, you will love this hole. pretty easy course with a country club feel to it, anyone that plays here should come out happy.

Customer Service

trying to get to country club status like the course, but a couple of somewhat non-intellectual people are in the pro shop and basically its like pay, play, and leave. the starter was nice

"I enjoyed this course, although I'll enjoy it more the next time because it's a very tough layout to grasp the first time out. At least half the holes are blind, and even with a partner who knows the course it's impossible to explain many holes from the tee. I just ripped it and hoped for the best. About half the time I was lucky. Of course, NOW I know what to do... The course was in pretty good shape (late June, 02), although the greens were gnarly. I scored poorly even though I hit the ball pretty well - which was sort of upsetting. And probably because the last two very difficult holes are not blind -- I pared both. I'm probably the first person in history to shoot 90 and par the last two holes. Walking it: Well, I walked* it. That asterisk is because I did get a ride on this one green-to-tee monsterous hill from one of the guys in a cart that I was playing with. He made three trips up and down for us. If it weren't for that one stretch, I'd say no problem walking. They should install a ski lift. Especially considering the stiff greens fee. "

Good.

The driving range is rather ratty, considering the snootiness of the place.

Shoot in the 80s

In many ways, Echo Falls is something of an enigma. It's a public course that strives to deliver a country club experience. Several stretches of holes are as exciting and challenging as you can hope for, while others are about as boring as they come. And the course conditions can range from excellent to dismal all in the same round

The most characteristic feature is the course's lack of length. Played "all the way" from the back tees, the course measures only 6,100 yards with a par of 71. That's short, even by damp Western Washington standards. From the blues only two of the par fours are longer than 370 yards. And, in fact, the course plays even shorter than it's stated length because all of the par fives play downhill.

The strongest holes on the course are the last two. The par 4 17th is about as tough a hole as you'll find in the Northwest. It plays about 440 yards from the back tee, with a large pond bordering the right side of the fairway all the way to the green; to reach the green in two you need a big drive and a middle iron across the corner of the pond to a narrow green. The 18th is a 150 yard par three that features a large island green; the green is so large that there is quite a margin for error but it's still a great finishing hole.

Before you get to this great stretch of holes however, you'll have several weak stretches to play. Probably the weakest part of the course is the combination of the par four 3rd (reachable with a 3-wood for most players) and the par five 4th (playing straight downhill, decent players will reach this green in two with a driver and a middle iron).

The weakest single hole on the course is easily the 105-yard par three 10th, which is as plain-jane as the par threes at your local pitch and putt. It's hard to imagine how this hole found it's way onto a modern course design.

Add in the almost mandatory cart and you'll drop well over $50 to play Echo Falls. While the $50 and up green fee is becoming more common at Seattle-area courses, there are several area layouts that offer better golf at better prices than Echo Falls.

The clubhouse is very nice and they succeed in creating something of a country club atmosphere for the average golfer. The restaurant has a nice view of the finishing hole.

The driving range is nothing to write home about; it's only about 200 yards deep and you hit off mats year 'round. Nice practive greens, though.
