Very much enjoyed this attractive, challenging, compact & well maintained public course. Played mid-week (on-line rate $31), early Aug ’10, from the blue tees (6261yds), with fairways & greens in very good shape. Firs bordering the fairways are trimmed up so you can find errant balls. The few bunkers have clean, fluffy sand. A good course to walk; relatively flat with some low ridges and modest hills to traverse. Greens putted true albeit a little slow in the late afternoon. Trees bordering fairways require accuracy but if in an adjacent fairway you have a reasonable chance to carry the firs. Longest hole (blue tees) is #12 @ 581yds and shortest is # 4 @ 121yds. A great experience. Separately at the end of the range is a practice area that is excellent for short game work and new players.

Shoots in the 90s

So,

I am an honest in my assessment of my abilities. I shoot in the 90's. I can and often shoot in the 80's, but more often than not...low 90's. This is the best bang for your buck in the general area of North Bend, Snoqualmie, and Fall City. If I lived in Seattle, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to play Mt Si, but still it is a good course. In response to the other reviews, I have played this course for 10 years, and well over 50 times. I have never tee'd off of a mat at this course, and truthfully it drains better than any other course in the area due to its proximity to the mountain. The only truly challenging holes on the course are the Par 5's. All of them but the last are challenging unless you are a big hitter. The rest of the course is pretty managable, with only 1 stretch for a Par 3 ( 187 ) the rest of the course plays perfect for a bogey golfer. The greens fees are tad high in the summer at $45ish bucks...but considering the other courses in the area are shorter, and not much cheaper ( $10 ) you get what you pay for.

Customer Service

Always great. One of the few courses that will let you book a tee time whenever you want. IF you get a 10 round punch ticket, they will let you book every tee time on the spot, even every sat for the next 10 weeks. Hard to get that from anywhere else.

I have played a few other courses that play similar to Mt Si in terms of difficulty. Bell Muni, Jackson park in Seattle, Coyote Creek at Willows. All about the same level, good for Bogey golfers.

Model Reviewed: Mount Si

The course has actually gotten worse over the year. I only play it a couple of times a year, but this year will be my last. For the middle of June the greens were in very poor condition. Very soft, sandy and very bumpy. For the amount of money they charge, you are far better off playing elsewhere.

Course was in very good shape the week I played it (for a muni). Greens were a bit bumpy, but overall not bad. The big problem with this course are the green fee prices. This is a $30 MAX course and not the $40+ they charge. Pace of play is also a problem on the weekends (5+ hours). Practice green was fine, but chipping area was poor.

Played there yesterday and today. Very good facility for beginner to average+ players. The driving range has been converted to hitting off mats. Lots of casual water on the course even though it hasn't rained for a couple of days.

Customer Service

Very good.

Shoot in the 80s

Mount Si is an 18-hole public course located between the towns of Snoqualmie and North Bend, about 30 miles east of Seattle. It's a fun course to play, but not especially challenging for average-to-better players. As long as you don't set your expectations too high, you'll be satisfied with Mount Si.

The course sits right at the base of Mount Si, with nice views from every hole. It's totally flat, very easy to walk. The layout is very compact, with adjacent fairways on every hole. The fairways are average-to-wide, and bordered mostly by small trees that aren't much of a factor unless you end up dead against one. You can play most holes from the wrong fairway without any penalty, so this is a course that encourages you to let out the shaft. There are very few serious hazards that come into play, however, it is easy to lose a ball in the swamps and woods that border the perimiter holes.

The course is not long, with many of the par fours in the 320 to 340-yard range, so you'll want to have your pitching wedge working. Small bunkers guard many of the greens, but the bunkers are so flat, that they're not much of a hazard (you can even putt out of a few of them). Greens are on the small side, tend to be very flat, and are not very fast, so charge every putt.

Mount Si rerouted a few holes several years ago. The layout is slightly more challenging that it used to be, but the essential character is unchanged.

Course conditions are average, but the course can get mighty sticky in wet weather. This is not the place to go on a rainy day. Also, they use mats on some of the tees about 9 months out of the year.

Grass driving range tends to be pretty ragged.
