Great golf course with fun layout. Always in spectacular shape. As good a place to walk as it is to ride. Top notch

The Janesville Country Club is a superb golf course. The greens are always in excellent condition. In fact, the last time I played the Janesville Country Club was after the club championship. The greens were at least 12 or 13 plus on the stimpmeter...Augusta fast! This course contains classical elements. Some holes play like an Alister Mckenzie design, i.e.Bethpage Black, requiring long, straight drives and accurate approaches. Other holes play like a Donald Ross design, in which the greens are raised, requiring high soft landing approach shots. Certain greens have false fronts, and there are a few redan and reverse redan greens. The greens are bent grass and all put true and have nice slopes. The fairways appear to be bent too. The rough appears to be Kentucky bluegrass, as well as some red fescue on some holes. This course is always in top shape and always presents a challenge. The staff and members are very friendly. Walking this course gives you a good cardiovascular workout!
