Dretzka Park is another Milwaukee County owned golf course. It was opened in 1964, and over the years has emerged as quite a nice layout and a real challenge for all skill levels. The course features numerous changes in elevation, plenty of mature trees and water comes into play on a handful of holes as well. The par 5's are relatively short, but aren't all that easy to reach in two shots for some reason. The par 3's all seem to play a bit longer than they show on the scorecard. Some of the more interesting holes include no. 9, a 430-yard par 4 that requires a very accurate tee shot and and even more accurate second shot; no. 12, a short, dogleg right par 4 that requires a tee shot that must carry a creek but not so far as to roll into the woods, and an uphill second shot to a undulating green; and no. 18, a short par 5 with water about 225 yards from the tee (you need to carry about 250 yards to clear the water) and a long uphill fairway from there to probably the largest green on the course.
Typical of most Milwaukee County Parks course, Dretzka features bluegrass fairways and bentgrass greens. The course conditions might not always be perfect, but it's usually more than playable. The greens are all fairly large and pretty well maintained. Put it this way: I've never heard anyone say anything bad about the shape of the course.
One other thing about Dretzka: I don't think I've ever been paired up there with anyone who wasn't a pretty decent player. Bring your A-game and you'll enjoy playing here.

Dretzka Golf Course is tied for #3 in overall value in the Milwaukee Public System. The Challenge is fairly easy; wide fairways, flatter than average greens overall, and shorter than average distance at 6840 from the back and average elevation change. Tees and Fairways are not bentgrass.

Customer Service

Customer Service is below average at times and needs to focus more on being customer friendly.

my first time playing at dreztka golf course, my impression after playing a round of golf are good course. i played some courses in madison wisconsin before and only couple are in good condition. dretzka golf course is quiet well maintained, has wide fairways, not much dog legs holes. few holes are challenging due to the trees high enough to prohibit people to just cut above through them. greens are in an ok condition. some great, few greens could use more fertilizer. overall it's a very good course, considering cost about 40 bucks for weekend round + cart.

Customer Service

the crew behind the counter could really use some courtesy lesson 101.

Best Milw. County course next to Brown Deer. They are doing a better job taking care of it too. Could do better with pace of play. Otherwise great value.

One of the better Milwaukee County public courses behind the leading Brown Deer course (where the GMO is played). Very inexpensive. Driving range on site, which is not automatic at Milwaukee's public courses.

Customer Service

Nice but nothing fancy.
