"Played this course today with a friend in the snow and sleet and all that I can say is ...WOW!!! What a hidden gem! Arrived at the course at 2pm and all of the wimps had supposedly stayed at home due to a little wind and off and on light snow and sleet. The guy at the desk said that we had the course to ourselves today so we jumped in our carts and went to the #1 tee box. The course seems simple at times but just when you think you have control of the course, it jumps up and bites you. This course has it all and it gives you ample opportunities to score well. If you like long par 4's, 'in between club' par 3's, dogtails everywhich way and fair/challenging greens ...this is the course for you. On top of that, this course is easy on the peepers and has scenic views strtaight out of a Kinkade painting. This was my 1st time playing this course & it's amazingly easy to find and it's one of those places that once you've been there once, you'll always be able to find it the next time. My favorite hole would have to be #18 where a great drive still gives you a blind 2nd shot to the green that's guarded by sand and an uphill slope. Don't fly the green or your looking at a snowman or worse! All in all this is one of my new favorite courses and if I had to find a weakness with The Highlands it would have to be there practice range (which is very small) and the grille (which was closed) before I even arrived at 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon. Luckily they had a vending machine in the clubhouse close to the bar, which was open btw. But don't let that stop you from playing a very playable, solid track in a nice part of southeastern Wisconsin. Well worth the $35 w/cart. I know I'll be back again!
