Heaven on earth. If there is a better affordable public course in California, I have yet to play it. But make sure you play it in the morning when the wind is still asleep. Because by the late morning, early afternoon, it shows its teeth. The course is difficult but fair. However, it becomes a demon of a course when the wind is up. First timers should play the whites to truly appreciate the difficulty from the tips (rating 74.6/slope 146). With the slick greens, wind and length, it could probably hold the US Open. The course has been used for US Open sectional/regional qualifying and Q School.

What a birthday gift! My brother-in-law and I played the course on a beautiful September saturday morning, tee time approximately 9:30 a.m., and the only other people we saw on the course were easily 5 holes behind us! The combination of a temperate climate and little foot traffic seem to help the course stay in immaculate shape. You would swear the fairways were made of green Angel Food Cake, they were so spongy. The greens accentuated my need to practice putting, and wisdom dictates leaving the ball BELOW the hole. . I'll have to leave further comment for the next section.

The best public course in Southern California. The course is so well manicured, one doesn't want to disturb it. Peaceful and Thoughtful. Golf in its utopian setting.

An awesome golfcourse, as nice as any I have played. This was my favorite course when I loved in Santa Barbara, and most people have never heard of it. Great layout, great condition, beautiful greens. It is a challenge from any tee, and plays LONGER than the yardage indicates. Other comments about staying below the hole are absolutely correct, the greens are sloped to the front, and fast. Accurate approach shots are a must. The design forces you to think about your game, moving the ball up and down, left and right. You will use every club in your bag.

This course was excellent from tee to green. The fairways were in near perfect condition and greener than any other course I've played in the SoCal area. I played this course immediately after a rainstorm and the drainage was excellent. The greens were extremely true and very fast on downhill putts. A tough course for slicers because of the direction of the wind, and the natural slope from left to right on a lot of the fairways but still very playable.

Customer Service

The staff was extremely nice and very accomodating.

This is an unbelievably tough course. The key phrase is, "keep it below the hole." Most of the greens are elevated and slope from back to front. If your approach is above the hole, get ready for a three-putt. Everything is in great shape. Which ever tees you play from, you will definitely be challenged like never before. The wind blows like crazy in the afternoon so if you want to score, play in the morning. Focus on your approach shots and you will be fine. This is an awesome course!!!!

Customer Service

It has great service also. They treated me very well.

This course ate me alive. I can't wait to get back and be eaten again. Some of the holes are wide-open links type and others have lots of oaks and brush around them. Plays longer than its 7103 yard rating. The tees and greens are in good condition. The fairways are not manicured like a lot of resort courses, but they are fine. Every hole is interesting. I understand it is very windy in the afternoon. We started about 8:00 and by noon there was a good 25 mph breeze adding to the already formidible challenge. They actually let you walk this course.
