Shoots in the 80s

I have been playing "The River" for 18 years now. Growing up with the remarkable Junior Golf program and graduating to a frequent 18 holer, all I can say is c'est magnifique. If one desperately wants to acquire the true golfing experience, this is the course to play. From the rolling fairways, to the fast greens; the nasty traps, and the unforgiving hazards, this course has it all. And who could argue with an around the clock beverage cart that serves everything from Coca-Cola to a cool Corona. One might think that I am biased as my family has been members for almost 3 generations, but I have played some of the best in the region and none compare to this Donald Ross masterpiece. Two thumbs up from this guy, and if I had a third it would be raised in triumph as well.

Customer Service

Superb...the knowledgeable pro shop with Andy Froud, the fine dining before, after, or when making the turn, the bagroom who will lend me Pop's clubs for an hour at the range

Dining is elegant and excellent, pool is chilling and a heck of a good time, tennis courts: game, set, match; 4th of July bash...out of control....the whole package is simply amazing

Shoots in the 70s

This is my favorite course. I have played many fine courses including The Country Club (Brookline), Waltham, Braeburn, Deadham CPC, Milwaukee CC, Whistling Straits, Blackwolf Run, Wellesley CC, none of them provide the experience that this course can.

Customer Service

The staff has always been exceptional. Pro Shop and Bagroom along with some of the most knowlegable caddies. If you haven't played "The River" before, it would be well advised to walk and take the advice of a caddie as often as you can. Proper Course Management is imparative here.

Great Donald Ross layout. Super conditioning. Course
has five par 5's and five par 3's. What the course gives
up in scoring on the par 5's it can take away with the
par threes.
