Shoots in the 80s

Just played here for the first time last week. To my surprise, the course is extremely nice and well kept...especially for the part of town that surrounds it. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. 24 bucks for 18 with a cart cant be beat, and it only took 2.25 hours to play it by myself. Staff is great at keeping pace of play and letting faster players go through. I definitely will be back!! The course itself is actually quite tricky despite its short length. Most of the greens are elevated testing your short game. Almost all of the greens are pretty flat which helps those of us who arent the best putters. I hit my driver about 260+ and only needed to use it 2-3 times. 3-5 wood off the tee is best for shot placement. Highly recommended!

Customer Service

Shoots in the 80s

What the other reviewers failed to mention is that is an OLD Donald Ross course. In fact, the oldest public course in the USA west of Pittsburgh. Cheap, about $22 to walk 18. Dont let the lack of length and par 66 fool you, not an east test here! Very good conditons. You should play here at least once. Pro shop guys are all good.

A nice course that is kept in good shape. This summer has been very dry and hot and a lot of courses are burnt up. This one is kep in nice shape. Plays a little short but has nice rolling hills and mature trees.

Shoot in the 90s

Avon Fields is a city-owned course that has been around since 1914. It is very short (5,000 yards) and plays to a par of 66. The front nine is somewhat more wide open than the back 9, but makes up for it by being longer. When playing the back 9, you have to cross Paddock Road...a fairly busy street to play holes 12-16. The course is generally in good condition...except for the bunkers where each one seems to have it own characteristics in terms of sand firmness. The course is somewhat hilly but it's so short that it should still be easily walked.

Customer Service

Usually good staff.

Shoot in the 70s

A lot nicer course than expected for the area of town it is near. Has a nice area for putting practice while waiting for tee time. Nice size pro shop, and an off course driving range. All around a very nice course with a lot of ammenities along the way.
