Lost Cajun
Shoots in the 80s

8 months after being forced to relocate to OK City, I had taken just about enough with this state from Hades (visit, but don't move here). My attitude began to change, though, when I happened upon this gem of a public course in Guthrie. The club house is nice: adequate locker room (with showers), cafe, pro shop, and very friendly staff. Tee times are not a problem. The course is challenging for us hackers with plenty of water and studied landscaping. While the absence of bunkers seems encouraging, the course layout can sneak up and bite you hard. One par 3 deceives you by presenting a border of thick trees along the back of the green. In reality, the wooded area is merely a few trees growing on a ledge that drops almost vertically into the water. If you over club, bring your waders! On a dog leg left, if you land behind the large cypress (looked like a cypress tree to me) in the middle of the fairway... next stop: bogey. Many of the holes require carrying over water on the approach. Thus, a short driver may find himself having to "layup" on a par four (which means bogey). If you can walk, I recommend it. The scenery is peaceful and actually beautiful in spots (beautiful for Oklahoma, that is). If you can't make it to Tulsa/NE Oklahoma and you like trees, water, and green grass, this course may help.

Excellent Course. Greens are in Outstanding shape, Nice Undulating. You can score on this course if you put the ball in the right place. Slope rating to low for this course plays more like a 125 than 116. I always enjoy this course and play it often. Well worth the trip to Guthrie. Especially for the Price. Very freindly staff

Customer Service

Greens are somewhat undulating, but a very fair test of the golfers abilities. Golf course is well maintained by the professional managment team! Tees are well designed and there is plenty of room to tee-up your ball. I really enjoy this layout, as it will test your mettle and ability to place the ball in the proper place, at the right times! There is one Par 4 on the front side that is very challenging! You will need to place the drive as close to the water/creek as possible, in order to have a chance to make it to the green safely. Bring your water balls for this hole! I could play this course every day and never get tired of the scenary that Oklahoma has to offer, and the unique and challenging layout. Don't miss this course if you are traveling through Guthrie, Oklahoma. The hospitality is unmatched anywhere in the USA. Plenty of beauty here and friendly people!

Customer Service
