I have played at this course since it first opened so I have seen it devolve from its promising stages in the beginning, to the horrendous pit that it is today. The fairways are covered with bushes of clover, not patches but full grown, ankle-high clover. Fully matured wild onions (hip high), bare rock and dirt patches. As if that were not enough, the tee boxes are also abysmal. The greens that the Blackberry Ridge website boasts as the best are far from it – they are fair at best. Cedar Crest, Old Fort, Henry Horton and perhaps event the VA Municipal course have better greens (certainly better fairways and boxes). Unless there are major, significant efforts and changes made, Blackberry Ridge will never see the day its greens are as good and healthy as Henry Horton, and that is unfortunate.

As I said, it had a lot of promise and the layout is interesting (sometimes confusing how paths cross) and could be beautiful. It needs a complete overhaul to be playable. They have been offering an $18 rate which is still too much considering the frustrating conditions of the course. What good is it to have fair greens if you ball is lying on rocks most every lie once it leaves the tee box ?

Customer Service

Service, at hte last visit, was haphazard and relatively lost. They had no idea about the reservation and seemed to not care. These were teenage kids working the counter, so that may explain all of this, but it is worth noting.

this is by far the worst golf course I have ever played. The VA course is much better! Would never play here again. Big waste of money unless it was free then it would be a waste of time.

Customer Service

when we checked in they were nice (getting your money) after that they were rude, they lied to use and would chase you down while you were trying to drive.

Similar Products Used: have played at Indian Hills Golf Club, 100 times better and cheaper. Old Fort Golf Course, the best in the area and cheaper to play. VA Golf Course, this is a scratch course and still a better course. Also one in Smyrna Tennessee, much better course.

With doglegs, elevation changes, a prevailing wind from the south that seems to be in play on every hole, and the toughest collection of par 3 holes in the state, this course is a challenge to every level of golfer. I've been playing the course for several years, and it gets better every time I visit. Significant improvements have been made to the quality of the course, particularly on the 7th and 8th holes, and all the greens. There are a few risk/reward holes (#6 and 13), some reachable par 5's, and some impossible par 4's (4 and 8 in particular)!! The greens are generally fair but fast and full of undulation. Fairways are tricky-ample in size but difficult to find depending on just how much wind you run into.
This course is a pleasure to play and the best golf value in the area. Give it a try and post your thoughts. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Customer Service

The staff are courteous and helpful. Although there is not a regular beverage cart on the course, even on the weekends, the snack bar is always stocked with the coldest of beverages and the basic necessities to make it through the back 9.

Similar Products Used: This is the best value of any golf course in the Middle Tennessee area. The condition of the course overall is behind area courses, but the greens are challenging and well-cared for. Fairways are ample but at times patchy, and forget about the rough (bring an extra sleeve of balls). If you want a challenge on par 3's, this is your place.

Disappointed!   Shoots in the 80s [May 08, 2008]

Construction being done all over the course. Fairways very hard even with above normal rainfall this spring. Greens not mowed, very average. Around the greens not mowed, some spots grass was 6 to 8 inches tall with patches of clover. Bunkers are not good at all, filled with rocks, some had grass growing through the sand.

Customer Service

Staff friendly, not a problem.

This place is a waste of your money. The owner would rather use it as a kennel considering the dogs running everywhere. Had to yell fore three times before the staff would clear the fairway. Overall condition is constantly poor.

The absolute worst course I've ever played. Lost our golf balls in the fairway under grass that had just been cut. Broke a PW on the hard ground. Rocks everywhere. Had to wait for the guy with no shirt on to finish watering one of the greens before I hit my shot. Don't waste your time or money.

Blackberry Ridge is a fine new addition to the Sartell area. It is a well planned and upkept course. The surroundings and atmosphere epitomize what a golf experience should be.

Blackberry Ridge is a golf course that is well laid out. There are some tough holes that require a few great shots. It is a fun course to play with a good price.

Customer Service

Very good

For a good afternoon-off-from-work golf-round, Blackberry Ridge is a good course. The course is located right off of State Highway 231, north of Shelbyville, Tennessee. The setting is pastoral and the surrounding "golf neighborhood" is developing at a moderate pace. The course is challenging for the beginning to intermediate golfer. For the most part the fairways are in good shape. The greens tend to be fast and can sometimes be a little hard. The rough is not very forgiving -- expect to lose some balls, if missing fairways is a common occurrence in your game. The setting is very nice and provides a good afternoon away from the office

Customer Service

No complaints here. The staff is good- natured and friendly in a laid-back, southern style.

Similar Products Used: The driving range is kept up well. The clubhouse provides the essentials, golf equipment and a snack bar.
