The Links at Sleepy Ridge - Golf courses, Vineyard, UT

The Links at Sleepy Ridge - Golf courses, Vineyard, UT

DESCRIPTION

A links style course located west of I-15 in Orem, UT. This course has a mixture of long, traditional style holes and shorter, shotmakers holes. Fairways tend to be a bit tight, and are surrounded by "native lands" that swallow errant shots. Not too much water, but enough to keep you honest. A fair amount of sand both in the fairways and around the greens.

The "clubhouse" is currently just a trailer with a drink cooler, some candy bars and bathrooms. Driving range is grass and located on the way to the first tee. Staff is pretty friendly. There are both a putting green and a chipping green.

Note: during the early and late season, the course superintendant tends to be cautions. Irons only off the range, and often times mats. Tee times are usually later than first light as they commonly wait for overnight frost to melt.

I'm not a big fan of wetlands courses, so this course doesn't appeal to me much in the first place. My wife and I were playing here once around sundown and the mosquitos attacked us like crazy - even while we were wearing and reapplying mosquito spray. It got so bad that we actually walked off the course. On the redeeming side though, this course is well groomed compared to other wetlands courses in Utah (especially compared to East Bay), and it has some very good golf holes. The design is pretty good.

This is an 18 hole wetland designed golf course resting by Utah Lake. This course is very flat and a little boring to play. The wetland are so high your views are obstructed on every hole. This course offers four set of tees and fast greens. Conditions of the course when I played were above average. No clubhouse and no snackbar. This course also plays very slow and is walkable. Signature hole is #10, a short par four that has water down the right side and around the green.

Customer Service

Good.

Have played this several times with my son. Great fun. Interesting holes with substantial waste and water. Not a course for newbees. I can't imagine folks buying real estate near this course. Typical WAY overpriced development...(but it is near a golf course). Trouble is, much of it is just downwind from the nearby sewage plant. I love the course...just deal with the smell.

Customer Service

A small trailer house is all there is. It's adequate. Not much in the way of refreshments though. Nice folks.

Good links style course located off Geneva Road in Orem. Course is long enough to be a test, but not so long that shorter hitters are hitting long irons or hybrids into every green. Course is well maintained. Fairways are lined with native grasses that make errant shots impossible to find. Worth a try in you're in Utah County.

Customer Service

Average. The "clubhouse" is a construction trailer. Limited number of balls, a few logo hats and shirts, and a cooler with some water, soft drinks and candy bars.
