Summary: I have been with apex for 12 years, it is doing better everyday.It is going at your will.7 iron downward is predictable around the cup by a flag lenght.It feels like you hit a butter, very soft and effortless from iron face through your heart.Other market names cannot change my love from Ben Hogan. I love to have second set,but it too difficult to leave the first one,it is part of my haert. Must wait until the first set is totally broken up or be stolen by some Hogan lover.My. friends have changed for many brand names for better score,they do not work well on such brand names. My Hogan rules over them even it is 12 years old.

Model Reviewed: Hogan Apex 50
Summary: I initially was apprehensive about switching to blades after playing cavity back irons. I decided to take a chance on the Hogan Apex 50 with apex steel 5 shaft; how could you go wrong for $150?. I have spent countless hours at the driving range and played 10 rounds with the irons so far. I ahve to say that I have been pleasantly surprised with the iron. I have been playing in the 80's for my last 8 rounds thanks to these clubs. Shots hit on the sweet spot are unbelievable; it's like hitting a ball of butter. These clubs will force you to improve your swing. My partners have noticed that my swing has gotten slower and smoother with since starting to play with the Hogans. In a way these clubs are the true game improvement clubs.

Summary: i have to admit i am quite dissapointed with these irons. I used to have square two, xm-5, a real begginers set. Amazingly, i got my handicap down to a 5.2 and hit at least 60% GIR. I hait them high and straight and could control the ball flight. Now, i hit these huge hooks that are absolutely terrible. I should never have changed from my xm-5s

Summary: I have been playing a very old set of Mizuno irons (similar to the MP-30) for a very long time and felt now is the time for me to upgrade. Only being and 80's shooter, I decided to go with blades because I felt that my ball striking had improved a great deal.
I tried all the blades available to me such as the MP-33 and 37, Nike forged, Titleist 680, Cleveland CG1 and finally the Apex 50. After the "first round" of trying out the clubs, I eliminated the Nike, CG1 and the 680 because they felt hard and a bit heavy. I was left with the MP-33 and the Apex.
I hit another 10 shots with each club and found my self going back to the Apex. Shot dispersion was much tighter, shots that were not hit square are very forgiving and not penalized as much. The feel through the shots were positive and not as abusive on the hands. I would say that the proof is in the putting. I'm not the type who just goes on what others say or the ads. I go out, try the clubs and draw my own conclusions.
I have only played one round with the clubs so far and do need practice getting used to them as everyone needs to do when switching equipment. But I can tell you that these clubs are very well constructed and will without a doubt be the last irons I buy.
I'm currently having the clubs reshafted with Dynamic Gold S300 SL because...well...let's face it...its True Temper.
I can hardly wait for my next round! I just hope that I get out before the cold sets in! LOL

Summary: I have been playing Mizuno Tzoid pros since 1997. I decided that it was time for some new blades so I hit a pro shop in St Louis on my last business trip. I tried just about every blade in the shop. I saw the Hogan demo bag, so I decided to give them a try. Prior to this I had pretty much decided on the Cleveland CG1 irons, but the weight just didn't feel right.
So I picked up the Hogan Apex 50 6 iron and gave it a try. That was all it took!! Purchased them on the spot. Played my first two rounds with them over the weekend. Very sweet irons, butter soft, and very workable. Love them. Now I need to work on the short game..
