Summary: The Callaway FT-9 Tour driver has a ton of pop off the face. I switch from the Titleist 905r to the FT-9 at the beginning of the season. (6 handicap) The FT-9 added 10 yards to my drive. The only draw back to this driver is DURABILITY!! I have had 2 of these drivers break in the past 5 months. Driver #1- Broke during my 3rd round playing the club. Driver #2: Broke 4 months later. Both drivers broke in the same place….on the bottom of the club where the carbon fiber meets the titanium. I love the driver and the Callaway brand....BUT....they need to work out the durability issue with this club.

Summary: Absolutely brilliant, low penetrating ball flight, loads of distance and gun barrel straight ... once you get used to the set-up. I found that I needed to move the ball further back into my stance (around 4 iron point) and use a more upright swing to get the desired control - almost like swinging a gaint putter. The noise off the club face is a tad off-putting but the results silenced the on-lookers pretty quickly. On average I gained around 20 metres, but this was more due to the better flight than speed off the clubface. If you get the chance give one of these a go ... but note that it may take a couple of round before you get the feel of the club.
Customer Service: Purchased on Ebay for US$160 (mint second-hand), the same club in Australia would have cost me upwards of $700.
Similar Products Used: Taylor-Made R7 - same sort of power off the club face but lost a lot of distance due to ballooning flight.

Summary: Before I purchased this new Callaway product i was s inconsistant with a driver that I ended up not even bringing one to the course with me. I began using my 3 wood off the tee and although I could hit it well, it was no driver. A good friend of mine had recently won this club in a golf outing and said he didn;t need it. Well I figured it's a driver so how am I gonna use it. So i took it to the range and every shot was nearly perfect. So I bought the driver from my buddy and I'm 280 off the tee almost everytime. Callaway really did well this club.
Similar Products Used: Nike Sumo Squared and Nike Sasquatch. Couldn't hit either of them and thought I was never gonna hit a straight drive.

Summary: One of my clients is a Golf Pro Shop, and he recently had his Demo day where the Reps for all the golf companies show up. He said the highest reviews were for the FT-i series drivers. Today I had some free time and went down to GolfGalaxy to hit some used drivers in the driving range simulator. I tried out the FT-i 9.5 that they had, and wow! I hit about 30 balls, 27 of them were on the fairway and consistantly 250-260, had a couple in the 280's. I normally hit about 230-240, and rarely get 260 with most drivers. I have to say this driver lives up to the hype. Needless to say I bought it for 299.00 used. The Shaft on it I might change out, its a Prolauncher Blue Regular, I like Stiff better. Anyways I would recommend that you first give it a try out at a driving range, it works very well for me and can't wait to get on the course and play it. Great work Callaway.

Summary: before I got this driver I consistantly sliced my drives. You can buy the club in 3 styles fade, straight, and draw. I got the club that was weighted to correct slices and now with this club I consistantly drive where I aim. The price is very high for a golf club but for me it is worth every penny.
