Model Reviewed: Gallaway FT hybrid 21 regular

I brought a Gallaway FT 21 degree hybrid for a late xmas present on friday and used it the same day and what a good decision I made. I used it on the first hole after teeing off with my driver and what an improvement the club gave me. It gave me so much confidence that I had one of the best days golf I've had for weeks. Ive even decided to by another one with a lesser degree to make a set.

FT Hybrid Neutral
Simply, the easiest clubs I’ve ever hit off the Tee or from the grass. I use #’s1, 2, 3, & 4.

Be cognizant of the fact that a hybrid has a different shaft angle than a fairway wood. If you make a fairway wood pass at the ball you’ll hit it left; setup like you’re hitting a five-iron and make a five-iron pass at the ball. This is a Golf Digest tip from Bryan Gathright, Oak Hills CC, San Antonio, TX. He’s a top 100 teacher. Reason being, the shaft angle of a hybrid is like that of an iron and not like that of a fairway wood.

Unlike, the Big Bertha Fusion FT-3 Tour Driver I use that sounds like a whiffle bat on impact, these hybrids have the sweetest auditory metallic ring I have ever heard.

Be wise and get the proper shaft for your game. The Callaway ‘pre-owned’ web site offers a myriad of shafts so, do your homework and be honest to yourself regarding swing-speed. Happy golfing now….

This Product is awesome!!! Anyone who has a hybrid lacking distance, this is the right one for you! This price is a little over the top, but you can find great deals on used ones. Hence, I got mine for $100 opposing the regular price of $200. This is an amazing golf club and exeeds distance, workability, and forgiveness.

This club is simply amazing to hit in any kind of condition. Straight off a tee, easy flight off the ground, straight from the rough. You name it this club does it. This club adds distance to a hybrid because of the new technology built into the club. I assure you if youre afraid to pull out a driver, this club will land you in the fairway almost every time. Great product by callaway.

I am testing a 2H version of this club (17 degrees) with the Aldila NVS upgrade shaft. It is easy to hit with little side spin but the distance is disappointing. I can hit my Nickent 3dx 20 degree just as far and unlike the Callaway, can work the Nickent. For the difference in price, I don't think the Callaway is worth, especially if you want to work the ball. I'm a big Callaway fan and love my FT-3 driver with the 55 g stock shaft but this club with the 85g shaft is not in the same league.

Recently demoed this club and loved it. I found a 4 hybrid in the preowned section at golf galaxy and got it for 50 dollars off of the new price. Love it easy to hit and straight and accurate.

Customer Service

Since it was preowned it didn't come with a headcover so I emailed callaway and they sent me a headcover.

Forget the graphite shaft!! GET THE STEEL!!! The club will feel 20X more solid with the steel...

I am a big guy with a pretty strong grip. Getting the ball in the air with a 2 iron is difficult for me. I hit the Callaway X 5wood about 230 and my 3 iron 200-210. Off the ground, the hybrid 2iron fits perfectly between them (215-225) and depending on what course I am playing will leave either the hybrid in or the 5 wood in. Off the tee I can get about 240-245 out of it, easily in the fairway. The hybrid launches easily into the air...but not so high as to discourage hitting it into the wind.

Dont try to force it..just let the club do the work.

Got it free with the Fusion FT3 driver :)

I think this is a great hybrid, once you find the swing for it. I think the best swing for it is a nice inside-out swing and smooth. This produces a nice, controllable draw. The face on this club is hot, and if you hit it thin, it still plays nice but goes low. I agree with the last person...this shaft isn't the best
