Shoots in the 80s Model Reviewed: Cleveland Sport OS 3/5/7 Woods Summary: The hype is "the cure for the slice", now I am no slicer, my woods are straight, with the odd fade, and odder draw, and really odd slice if I catch a toe, or an out to in swing. I actually bought these for someone else, but had to try them for myself, and I might just keep them for myself too. Well, they were consistantly long and straight, with the odd slight draw. As far as slice correction, I puposely produced and out to in swing, and if this is the reason for your slice these will not fix that. However I strenghened my grip to open the face at impact, and only produced a playable fade, no slicing. So if your problem is squaring the face at impact, these may be for you.
Now, if you are a straight hitter, don't be afraid of these clubs, they still hit straight, and even a bit of draw, which is not a bad thing to have. Keep in mind I am using the stiff shaft, had they been a regular flex I might of got into some hook trouble.
My only complaint so far is some excessive top spin on the 7 wood, not sure if it is a flaw in my swing, or the club, but I lost some carry distance due to this, but may get the distance back in roll?
These clubs are perfect for the 80-100 golfer looking to control his fairway shots better. I suggest you give them a try because the price can't be beat for cleveland quality, but as always, don't rely on the hype.
