Model Reviewed:
Niblick 10

Summary:
I purchased the Niblick brand new off ebay for £79 because I was struggling around the greens... mainly with chip shots off tight lies and from 50 yards in. Initially, I thought the club was excellent - the zip grooves stopping the ball instantly from approx 100 yards.

However, the more I used the club, the less I liked it. I found that I always caught greenside chips thin and felt there was very little feel... much the same as the Cleveland CG12 Black Pearl.

Then there was the p*ss taking comments from my friends and playing partners. Their comments didn't really bother me but it did get me thinking 'what is the point of this club?'
On greenside chips / bump and runs, the zip grooves make no difference whatsoever - same shot could be played with a 7, 8 or 9 iron.
Pitches can be played with a pitching wedge, and full shots from 120 yards in can be played with a 9 iron!

So to cut a long story short, I sold the niblick (or 'nibbles' as I had come to call it) and practised with my wedges and 7 iron.

Cleveland Niblick 42 deg.

Summary:
I can only say "Wow!". This thing has so many uses it's unbelievable. With each ball position in your stance it is a different club. And accurate? This thing is absolutely deadly within 100 yards of a green. Spend a few hours with it on the range before you hit the course and this will be your new favorite club.

Niblick 10 42 degree wedge

Summary:
A great club for me... but may not be needed by better players who are already consistant around the greens. This club gives me great confidence from both short and long range(90ish yards). The short putter type length gives alot of control for little chips as well as longer pitch shots. It wont replace my Gap and pitching wedges but it is always going to be in my bag.
