Summary:
I have had three pairs of DryJoys over the years. I can still wear the older pairs - even if it is only during the Summer time.

I am size 9 UK, 10 US, 43 continental with a high instep. The standard shoe fits me. I do not need the heel cradles supplied. I have had black and brown shoes. White shoes would be no good in Britain for year round wear.

One improvement is the plain cap. The previous pairs had broguing which looked nice in the shop, but used to scuff badly (although the shoe was still sound).

I have tried other brands of shoe, but they all let in damp and rain.

I am careful with money, but there is nothing worse than playing a round with wet feet. I ALWAYS walk 18 holes (or 27/36 if it is a golf society day).

In Britain you cannot get away with cheap shoes that let in water - especially during the Winter. Mud is another consideration. When you play on clay during the Winter, shoes take a real hammering. Current Dryjoys have the black widow soft spikes. Previous pairs had standard metal spikes (and more of them).

If you live a drier climate and always ride in a golf cart then you can possibly get away with a cheaper shoe. However,I was amazed at people who were not prepared to spend because it was 'only' a golf shoe. My view is that if you are actually walking around for four hours or so a golf shoe is more important than a shoe you may only use to walk to work in.

As I say, you get what you pay for. I also do a fair amount of walking and I can get away with cheaper Eastern European walking boots - but for golf I find it pays to stick with the product I know and trust.

You obviously need to find a shoe that you yourself are comfortable with. If the Dryjoys meet that requirement, then rest assured they will be durable and waterproof.

Price paid above is pounds sterling. They are bound to be cheaper in the US. We always pay over the odds for golf gear in the UK.

Summary:
Good:
These shoes last and last. When they're cleaned and polished they hardly look like 5+ years wear.
Bad:
Heel is low and always felt like foot was slipping in these shoes. Not particularly comfortable walking shoe, they squeeze my shoes. They sure are NOT DRYjoys anymore, when I walk to the range with dew on the grass they get soaked through.

Great classic look. Extremely comfortable. Keep my feet dry as a bone. I would recommend these shoes to anyone. It is definetly worth the money to buy a good pair of golf shoes.

Summary:
An OK shoe. I'm afraid to say that most golf shoes now appear to be made in sweat shops in the Far East with a view to making as much profit as possible. The quality of the leather is pretty poor. I took a gamble and wore these round Royal Lytham and St Annes at this year's Open. The stiffness around the ankle caused me some ache by the end. The Black Widow soft spikes were very effective though.

Summary:
Excellent in wet weather and believe me, living where I do in Scotland that is an essential feature of any shoe.

Only downside is that the left shoe now looks to be slightly stretched on the upper. This only after about 45 holes. I am sure that FJ will replace if it gets worse, however the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. Well worth the extra cash.
