Summary: There's nothing negative that I can say about these irons. They look great at address, feel great and hit great. I got mine used from a forum for $110 shipped. What a steal!

Summary: The most playable forged blade I have played with. Easy to live with on up and down days. I have newer Titleist (terrible feel), Hogan and Wilson blades in the basemement. Nothing feels like these except for a Mizuno which feels just slightly softer at 10 times the cost. Mine are on Flighted Rifle 5.5 shafts.
Customer Service: Professionally built by me.

Summary: Just a follow up on my recent post. While I still maintain that these irons are a great value, I have to take back my remark about them being close to the Mizuno MP-33. I hit them next to a set of MP-33's and the feel is definitely better with the Mizuno's. One other small complaint about the Golfsmith's is that I think they are a bit too thin and need a little more weight.

Summary: I just received a brand new set of these irons and have nothing but good things to say about them. I did have Mizuno MP 33's and see no drop off in performance with these clubs. They may not have the exact feel of the Mizunos but they are pretty darn close. I only paid $350 for 3-AW. Unbelievable value.
Customer Service: Bought from independent club maker Jim McLain of McLain golf. Outstanding service.

Model Reviewed: Golfsmith pro forged blades and cavity backs
Summary: The Golfsmith Forged cavity backs are a mid sized iron. The have TTGold shafts-r 300 from 2-sw
They are smooth and accurate and excellent from long, mid, and short ranges and for chipping
They have great feel. I sometimes use the CVs for 3-5 and the MBs for 6-SW as a combo set but even as one set they are great as are the Golsmith MB. A cheaper but excellent alternative are th the new Integra Forged MBs and mixed set ---CV/CV with mb and blades. The are close to the Nikes--very, very close suggesting that Nike might well be produced in the Intgra factory north of Guangzhou (just a idle suggestion---they seem to resemble the Nikes and the Mizon MP 29 blades and the mixed or combined set is a dead ringer for the Nike set down to the swoosh--on the integras it is a bold V.....
They also play well but not quite at the level of the Golfsmith clubs that are a bit larger and softer in feel.. However cost wise they are about $10 us versus $26 for the Golfsmiths.
In any case modest priced and high performance blades and CB s are available as components (and can be made up by the seller) at relatively modest cost. Certainly better than the $800-$1000 it costs for Nike, Mizuno or Titleist
