Shoots in the 80s Model Reviewed: Honm Tour Athlete 925 Summary: Honma Tour Athlete 925 Irons.
These are the most precise Irons ever made by Honma. Ease of playability is indicated in the Honma Irons range by numer 2xx, 3xx ....being the easiest and 7xx, 9xx being the most difficult/Precise striking of ball with Consistent swing. The peculiarity and uniqueness of 925 is that unlike other muscle backs with have thin soles and muscle being fairly thick in the mid of iron heads, 925's have Heavy sole, which helps getting the ball airborne easily as this has a lower centre of gravity. A great design feature which increases playability despite being Blade design.
What helped me a bit further to get a good result was perhaps the Nippon 950 steel shafts being lightweight, so the 5 iron weighs in at 405 gms!!
Other Honma Irons like 904 in 9xx series are cavity backs and presently 925's are the only true Blade Irons of uniform build as compared to Tourstage X-blades!
Triple satin plated for a great softness and feedback, this is as good as it gets on a retail counter product. Anything better would have to be from the Tour Van!! Worth every cent.
This serves anyone with a consistent swing upto 15 handicap mine being in 80's! One can opt for shafts variation like S200/400 or NS pro depending on choice and age!!
This is going to remain in my collection till it falls apart. Customer Service: This was imported from Japan during 2003 and till now there are no issues even after 70 rounds. Similar Products Used: Mizuno Masters Limited edition, Porsche Design, Daiwa MS 153, Katana 303, Taylormade 300, Taylormade RAC CB all of these being forged irons of similar profile!
