Ping Rapture 3-wood

Summary:
If your tired of fighting inconsistant drivers (I've been through 5 in the last year) and realized I can't square the face up with a 45-46 inch shaft. Why not find the largest profile 3-wood for driving with a 43 inch shaft. Makes sense. Finally fiund the original Ping Rapture fairway wood. A massive 229cc head made of all titanium. Downside is it may be to big to hot off the ground. Doesn't matter to me, because this is basiclly my driver. Great club off the tee.

Ping Rapture 3w

Summary:
I had almost given up on the 3 wood in favor of the easier to launch 5 woods but I still needed a longer club that could get me closer on second shots on the long fairways and keep me out of trouble on tight fairways. The Rapture 3w is the answer for me. It is easy to launch from the carpet or off the tee and is both long and straight. It's all I could ask from a fairway wood. Now that the V2 Rapture is out the prices have dropped to make them competitive with most of the other quality choices.

17* Rapture wood

Summary:
I purchased the Rapture 5 wood because I love my Rapture driver. The fairway Rapture is large in size, but I found this club not very playable. Bulky and awkward. A good lie is required to hit this club. It's good off the tee, but I primarily use my woods from the fairway. Also I did not find this titanium wood any longer than a conventional steel fairway metal.

Customer Service:
Ping Customer Service is excellent.

Ping Rapture 7 wood TFC909F reg

Summary:
I sell clubs for a living, so I get to test many and this is the longest hitting model I've experienced. I hit a few shots with one of these (in reg flex), on a practise fairway, about 12 months ago and after 3 shots I knew I wanted one (with the stiff flex shaft) for myself.
I haven't managed to get one yet, but bought myself a second hand 7 (reg flex) the other week. I took it out for a round, with 3 other very highly rated and expensive 07/08 models and this one astounded me with it's distance.
I was very surprised to see one 5 wood hit 10 metres further than the model I had been playing for most of the year, but was then shocked to see my shot with the Rapture 7 wood go 10 metres further again. That makes the Rapture 7 wood hit about 20m (22 yards) further than the 5 wood in the 2007/2008 Hotlist rated model I had been using! Incredible.
I'm not overly excited about the size of the heads on the 5 and 3 woods, but really like the size of the 7 wood's head. The 3 and 5 are so big, but they'd be great from the tee. The 7 wood is much smaller, but still not small compared with many other brands.
If you use a 5+ year old model of fairway wood, the Rapture 7 wood may be as big as the head on your current 3 wood and will possibly hit the ball further and be far easier to hit consistently well.
I could do without the very slightly closed face angle, but if I thicken up the grip, that will help me not to hook it when i do miss-hit it. I great model!

Customer Service:
Very helpful on the phone, but the company seems very "precious" and full of themselves towards those who sell their products online
