Ping i3 5 wood

Summary:
I have to to agree on both points here. I have demo'ed this club a few times and finally decided to buy one used. I picked it up for $50 and immediately took it to the driving range. I loved it, I was consistently hitting the ball about 225 yards off the ground and straight everytime (which is a miracle for me). I thought that I had found my cure to being horrble with a 3 iron. That was until...it broke. I didn't hit the ground and I hadn't in any of the other 20 - 30 hits. I hit the ball clean and the head went flying. I was able to get my money back, but was told that it cannot be fixed because Ping no longer makes the peice that broke, go figure. So, I will say that I loved this club...until it broke. Will I buy another one? No. But I will be looking for something as similar as possible because with that club, I hit about 20 of the best balls of my life.

i3 5 wood

Summary:
I purchased the i3 5 wood used. Has standard Ping shaft, regular flex. I have been thru a fair number of fairway woods and hybrids and have hit many of them fairly well, but my consistency with the i3 5 wood has helped my game. I play the same 3 courses for most of my golf, and have gone from shooting 98-102 down to the lower 90's, with an occasional dip into the high 80's! I look at a 98 now as a poor score. The main reason for this improvement is this i3. I hit this small headed club with a great deal of confidence, and the ball flies. I am on more par 4's in 2 than ever before. I've read a few not so favorable reviews about this club and they are plain silly. The guy who keeps knocking the heads off needs to stop hitting the turf so much!!! Hey, not all clubs are for everyone. But this one is for me.

Ping i3 3 wood -14 degree

Summary:
This is an absolutely superb fairway wood which has a very low and consistent ball flight, is very easy to shape and control the ball and is absolutely perfect for the golfer who is after more consistency. If you happen to have £150 burning a whole in your back pocket and are in the market for a new 3 wood I couldn't possibly reccomend anything other than this except the original Callaway steelhead, although these are particularly hard to come by nowadays.

Ping i3 Fairway Wood 12*

Summary:
I have to start off by saying that I used to be a strong advocate of Ping. I played their Eye2 irons forever and used a Ping Zing Isopur2 putter. That being said, I am disappointed in what I am about to write.
This is the SECOND i3 fairway wood have gone through. Why? Because they keep on snapping at the hosel and my club head goes flying.

The first one I struck up to being faulty plastic for the hosel. But it has happened a second time. And this recent one was the replacement 3 wood that PING rebuilt for me.

And just to note: these did not happen when I was hitting it fat and driving the club into the ground. These have both happened when teeing off and striking the ball perfectly.

I will not be getting another one. It has to be the chemical reaction (after about 2 years) of the epoxy/resin "eating" away at the integrity of the plastic.

Do not get this club if you are looking to have it for more than 2-3 years.

Customer Service:
Ping was very responsive to replacing the first time this happened. I have yet to call them about this second time. I am hoping they compensate me for my loss because I do not want this to happen again.

Just bagged the Ping i3 5 wood (17*) for the Mizuno Fli Hi 21* iron. Goes just as far and just as straight, but feels more forgiving.
