Snake Eyes FC-01 Irons

Snake Eyes FC-01 Irons

DESCRIPTION

This is the largest and deepest cavity-back iron head in the Snake Eyes family. The unique weight reduction cut feature removes needless weight to further enhance playability while the 300mm leading edge radius is slighly less curved than most cavity- back irons to aid in target alignment. Transitional face thickness construction complements center of gravity location and U-groove scorelines provide maximum spin control throughout the set. Available in both 431 satin polish and 17-4 stainless black gunmetal finishes. This stylish design features a laser cut aluminum Snake Eyes medallion for a professional touch. .370" parallel hosel requires ferrule. The interior cavity cut on Nos. 2-6 removes needless weight off the top toe area to enhance center of gravity location. The larger cut in Nos. 7-LW moves to the center of the sole, decreasing weight at the bottom

I love these clubs (gun metals) I play on the Thatcher High School golf team and ive hit my far share of other players irons and i have to say i love mine the best, the just have such a soft feel to them and they are super light with the se-80 s-flex snake eyes shafts, i know that i love my snaked eyes and i wouldn't trade them for anything and im most likely goin to be playing them for a long time

bought these irons off ebay and shipped them from texas to australia very cheaply. my previous set tm burner bubbles were stolen and since insurance paid out i am not too heart broken. for about 1/5 the price i really believe the fc- combined with Rapport advent graphite shafts are superior to the taylor mades and i was plenty happy with those. have not experienced any rusting problems on the gunmetals but australia on the west coast is a bloody desert and I have been hitting these in the summer months. they zing off the club with penetrating loft and my length per club increase is ten metres thereabouts (11 yards) give or take but effectively one club longer. if you are happy and content with something you know they go better for you but i have been cheesed off with my golf at times but not my iron play. the old story of chipping and putting which haunts me and many others. i am a firm believer in golfsmith products as i also have a 600t-c driver and one of the 3 iron/7 wood hybrid and i will not be submitting a review on the latter but that is not the clubs fault but i have not hit enough good shots to want to praise something i do not really like. the driver is very good and exceptionally long but of late my swing is crap and so are the results, nice long shots that go deeper in the bush and i always se that gap that i can get through. we all know better but. love the gunmetal fc-01 irons, though

These things are sweet. I just wish I could get a hold of a 2 iron to go with the set (3-PW). I've got Rifle 6.5 flex in them so they are as stiff as a board, just the way I like them. Mine are the stainless steel versions so I haven't had any rusting problems and I haven't really even nicked them up much, not even when making a stupid choice and hitting out from inside a tree! They are the 1st full iron set I've owned and I love them. I don't think they'll be coming out of my bag any time soon. Just regrip them each winter and they're ready to go.

Customer Service

Awesome. Phone orders take no time. They'll answer any questions you have as well. Email responses come within 2 days.

I got these from Goldsmith last year on a closeout sale back in August. I put them together with Royal Precision Superlite steel shafts (regular flex). The results were pretty pleasing to the eye, but I've made lots of clubs before -- so it was easy. I had been using game improvement 'knockoffs' before and when I switched to these clubs there were some major surprises. These are not exactly "game improvement" clubs; I had to learn to swing better and focus more on my game. Actually using these clubs, when I finally learned how to use them, made all of my game much better; even my drives got straighter and much longer. These clubs fall between "game improvement" clubs and forged-type "player" clubs, so beware most problems with theses are from the nut at the end of the grip, but they are good irons. I still shoot, too often, in the 100's but that's because my regular partner is a major distraction; asks all kinds of questions and the worst times -- like when I'm standing over the ball, 20 feet form the hole. When playing alone on the same course I'm consistently in the 90's with these clubs. No rust problems, soft stainless gets scratched, nice soft feel, with the light shafts C-9 swing weight, which is also nice. Good buys from Golfsmith this time of the year (August).

Nice clubs (gunmetal finish). I had a short set made from clearance heads on the Golfsmith clearance site. I have a 5,7,9,sw and what a nice way to play for a hacker. I don't have the problem of trying to decide between a 6 or 7 iron from 155 yards out. I had them built by a pro clubmaker with Royal Precision Superlite steel stiff shafts which make the clubs unbelievably light, almost graphite like without the whippy feel that graphite sometimes gives. Overall a can't miss club that feels great and looks better.

Built these clubs with dynalite stiff shafts, gunmetal finish. Head weights are within about 1 gram. Very soft feel irons, seems a little light weight with the dynalite shafts. Trajectory is still high even though the heads have a low trajectory rating. Direction hard to controll because of the light weight. Only moderate forgivness even though they are full cavity's. I suggest only mid to low handicaps try these.

The components were purchased as a Christmas gift. I put them together myself with rifle 5.5 shafts. They make a beatiful set. I like the trajectory and shot dispersion but was lacking distance. Some of the heads started rusting after a few months of weekend golfing. Then I had the shafts checked and they are X-stiff. That is probably why I lacked distance. I e-mailed Golfsmith and haven't heard anything. I give them a low rating because I feel they shouldn't have rusted so quickly. If the shafts were right and no rust I'd be playing them.

Customer Service

Help was fine in purchasing them. Not much help later.

I bought these clubs on the strength of the reviews that they have received, and I have to say I do not regret it one bit. Firstly, they look beautiful: simple, clean lines with minimal offset and nice satin finish. They are also extremely easy to use. Miss-hits are easily forgiven, but when you strike them out of the middle you get a very pure feeling and lovely sound. These clubs are long too. I got a 2 iron with my set and I can hit this around 260 yards - nearly as far as my 3 wood! If these clubs had a big brand name on them they would be at least £500, so you can't go wrong at the kind of prices that they are available (I paid £144 on ebay for an almost new set). Highly recommended!

I have just started hitting these clubs. The first thing that i have notice, is the feel of clubs, they have soft feel to them. And if you hit it thin it will get up. Well i haven't notice any rust on my clubs yet either. The one thing is that it will take time to get used to it, because it took me about a week to figure out to hit it good.

Customer Service

I had great service, because i had my dad built them for me.
