Strata Tour Premier

Summary:
Since Callaway bought TopFlight these ball have not been made for a while .I bought these on a web site that sells recycled balls. I payed $6.99 per dozen as opposed to $30, so the price was excellent. As far as performance goes they do not have as many dimples on them as most current balls (350 vice 392 on the ProV1 and 408 on the Nike One Black)so controlling the trajectory is much easier. The Premier spins very well on full shots and control on pitches and chips is excellent. It is an 80 compression golf ball so it has a very muted feel to it which is the only down side. I lost no distance off of the tee however the ball does not carry as far due to the flatter trajectory but it has a very flat angle of descent which allows the ball to roll out well. I wish that this ball was still being made because I tend to be a high ball hitter and this ball has helped me add a few shots to my bag that I could not hit before w/out them balloning on me. As with any Urethane covered ball, the Premier tends to scuff on crisp short iron shots but I am not a scratch golfer so those are few and far between for me.

Summary:
These are great balls. Feels great off the club face. Solid yet soft, but not spongy. Distance wise they are as long as the Pinnacle exception that I've been using for some time. Spin rate is just right for me. I can never make the ball back up on the green but these Stratas stop quickly after just one hop. They are doing a 'Buy one get one free' promotion at my club, so I definitely grabbed a bargian!

Summary:
Excellent feel off the club. This ball will back up like no other. Excellent scoring around and on the green. Flat out this ball will optimize your score from 150 yards on in. Coversely, I feel the Strata Tour Straight will provide a little more distance and scuff a little less.
