Description The R5 dual TP's deep clubface increases the chances of creating "vertical-gear effect," which promotes a higher launch angle and lower spin-rate for added distance. TaylorMade's exclusive Inverted Co...
Summary: I just picked up my fitted dual 5 with a Fujikura 350 shaft. I have played a Taylormade 540xd for the last 5 years. Played my first round and hit 12 out of 14 FW! This was having never hit the club. The head is the "D" type and I heard nice drive++ and you were textbook with your driver today. I just swung it and found 10-15 yds more swinging full. The course has a hole with a very narrow cut through some trees at 150 off the tee. The idea is to go over and I easily carried the trees. My two FWs missed were hard duckhooks, when you catch the ball at the inside edge of the sweetspot, it turns hard left with the draw weighting. Next outing I'll try to work it lower and a little draw roll. I had a good straight ball going and played it. I love the club!

Summary: I have owned many drivers in my somewhat short time playing seriously. I've been a long time Titleist carrying golfer. this is the second taylor made driver i've owned. the first was the R510. this is by far the most accurate driver i've owned. i have the set-up of the weight config as: 6g in the heel, and 1g in the toe. it seems light, but i have the Grafalloy Bi-matrx Proto Stiff flex shaft tipped 1/2" and plays at 44.25" and it still swing weights at almost a D3. it really helps with my pull slice swing. now the ball flight is straight to slightly tail-offs. but the accuracy and confidence on the box has me touting this driver. yesterday was my 4th round with it, and i played a 514yd par 5, and i hit driver, 3 iron, and came up just short of the green. was a bit chilly too. also played a par 4 415yd. hit driver, PW. this is not explosive distance, but it gets out there. i don't have tour swing speed, i'm pretty average. i only hit my 5 iron 185-190 yards. so i hope this helps you when assessing the quality of this review. it's not super long, but it's accurate. accuracy counts for a lot in this game, as you know.

Summary: This driver was just OK. Not great and not horrible either.
The good part about the club was the moveable weight. You could adjust the trajectory with a couple easy clicks on the wrench and new weights.
The overall performance of the club was decent. No where near the longest driver I've ever used but somewhere probably in the middle.
Forgiveness seemed to be ok as well. Balls struck not in the center still travelled a good path but lost distance as expected.
I wasn't crazy about the sound, but that is just a personal preference thing.
Overall, I would say that if you are in the market for a TM driver, give the dual R5 Tp a try, it may fit you better than it did me. You can get them fairly cheap on eBay.

Summary: This is the best driver I've ever hit. Awesome line drive trajectory, forgiving, great feel, control, it has it all. The heavier Diamana shaft is perfect and much better than the stock shaft in the regular R5. The stock R5 REAX shaft ain't this shaft. So perfect, that I'm having my 3 wood reshafted with it and bought the hybrid with the same shaft. This club changed my game. It can be had brand new with the weight kit and wrench for less than $175 on ebay. Best deal on the planet. Take some time with the weight kit to perfect your performance. I ended up with a draw bias at slightly less than the factory weight. Very solid.

Summary: bought this club used at golf galaxy
hit it pretty good in the simulator, about 265 carry, and it rolled out pretty good. its a neutral but i had a nice little draw. got to the course and everything is way left. it has the stock x stiff shaft. i like the weight of the heavyer shaft and i still hit it pretty high, but i think im going to go to a stiff shaft, with a low launch. overall this club feels as good as any driver ive hit, i would recomend it to anyone looking for a good deal
