Summary: I needed something between my 2 hybrid and my driver so I opted for the Taylor Made 300 series 3 wood. The first thing you notice about this 3 wood is it has a indention or slot if you will that runs from the front to the back that helps you align the club up with the ball, it's very reassuring at address. I think this alignment feature is one of the reasons that I have hit this ball perfectly straight everytime I have used it. I get distance that is nearly as long as my driver and I don't worry about hitting a bad shot ever with it. I have used the Taylor Made Super Steel series of fairway woods in the past and for the most part I hit great shots with them but I never liked the burnt orange color they came with. Maybe I'm just biased towards Taylor Made but it seems like they take great strides in trying to make the game enjoyable for everyone by making equipment that makes bad golfers look good.

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made 300 Series 13* and 17*
Summary: I am giving my opinion on the 17 degree 5 wood and the 13 degree 3 wood. Both clubs have the standard Lite S-90 shaft and are the 300 Series not Tour. I have been using the strong 5 wood for over a year and am very pleased with it. The five wood is really a slightly strong 4 wood since the normal 4 wood loft is 18 degrees. The 5 wood can be hit high and soft or low and running. It is fairly shallow in profile so hitting out of the rough is easily accomplished. I won't go into distances since each player differs so. My experience is the accuracy of both these clubs is the true selling point. Nobody hits a fairway wood to hit it long. After a year with the 5 wood, I tried the 13 degree 3 wood. I hit it almost as far as the driver and much straighter. I would likely use it exclusively on a tight golf course. I have had two friends buy a 13 degree 3 wood after trying mine. The ball flies high and carries a long way. These clubs are and excellent buy nowadays on ebay and can be bought for about $100 used. I have gotten a couple from 3ballsgolf. The price is very reasonable and the used clubs are in great condition. In some cases, Taylor Made shaft tips are poorly prepped and the clubheads have to be re-epoxyed. Once that is done, it is very solid. I have know this to happen on a few occasions. I would recommend this club over the tour model since it will produce a higher ball flight and the head is quite a bit larger. As with all graphite shafted clubs, performance will vary slightly from club to club so don't expect yours to be exactly like your friends. These are solid clubs and can be a real bargain now. They are worth trying, especially if you can find them used.

Model Reviewed: 3 and 5 woods S90
Summary: Since replacing my Burner irons with the 320 irons (which are great by the way)I found problems hitting my Firesole 3/5 woods. Somehow they seemed too light. I've played with the new 300's 3 times now and hiiting the ball much better. I've found I have to address the ball more towards the heel for a cleaner strike and that I get a bigger draw. The swing weight seems much better and they are long !
Customer Service: Good service from Golf Direct who let me hit as may balls as I wanted and measured my swing speed to make sure I had the right shaft.

Model Reviewed: TM 300 Series 3 wood 15 S-90
Summary: Was playying Golfsmith XPC3s 1, 3, adn 5 woods. I got the TM 360 Ti last March. Demoed the 200 Series steel, but was not vey long with the club. Tried the 300 series and started playing a 3 wood again. Long and straight off the tee, always good for 225 to 235 yards. Trajectory is high, but for me that is good. Off the fairway, I can get 220 consistently to a max of 240 yards. Plays well out of the rought, too. The swing weight is good, and I like the look and feel of the club. I have also developed a shot around from around the fringe using a putting stoke while choking down on the shaft. Great club.
Customer Service: Although purchased used on ebay, I have registered the club, and have been told I will have no problems dealing with the customer service folks. Time will tell.
Similar Products Used: Played XPC3 (Golfsmith). Demoed Callaway and Titleist.

Model Reviewed: 300 series 5 wood
Summary: I was somewhat cynical about these woods, with such high prices. Well after hitting them ALL, I must say that the Cleveland Launchers are the only other ones in the same league - for me.
Both clubs produce flat-ish trajectories, so roll more than most woods, but are very long, forgiving, and feel great. The 300s were my favorite. you can really go after a ball, and have confidence you won't overswing, perhaps due to the as tested EI 70 shaft.
I'd say more of a low-handicappers club. higher 'cappers should look towards the pings, or callaways, IMHO.
price has dropped now, which is nice.
