Titleist NXT Distance

Summary:
Starting playing this ball two years ago. Was in Myrtle Beach in late February and still a little cool outside. After vowing to NEVER play a Top-Flite ball, I fell in love with the XL-2000 Super Titanium. The ball felt a little clunky in the colder weather. Long story short, I played the NXT Distance and immediately gained more 'feel' from the softer ball. As my game has progressed, I have continually tried to change balls, especially the Pro-V1. I ALWAYS come back to the NXT. It is very responsive and straight. While I agree, you won't get the 'bite' on the greens as you would a high-spin ball, this ball performs great. I play high iron shots that generate alot of spin, so while they may not suck back on hard, hard greens, they certainly don't roll off either. The box says this ball is a 68 compression. That's 'soft' in my book.I would rather sacrafice a little bit of spin for the distance, feel and dependability of the tee.

With all that babbling, I would say that this ball is every bit as good as the Pro-V1 for any low handicapper. Scratch golfers can get the extra benefits from the Pro-V1, but anybody over a 7+handicap can confidently play this ball.

Good luck and keep hittin' 'em straight!!

Titleist NXT Distance

Summary:
Well I am the Dan referred to in the previous review. I did write WStan about his review of the Titleist NXT Distance ball. Ironically, it was the math that intrigued me about his initial review. He said that this ball added 12 minutes to his round, as he kept hitting it left or right, and had to look for it. I think we all know that a ball can't add time to your round. It's the person hitting it. Even if the ball could, it would not be a low spin distance ball, which the NXT distance is. He complains about this ball slicing "200 yards to the right." Does the ball make 200 yards difference, of course not. The purpose of my message was that his math does not add up, and his low rating had significant effect on the overall rating of the ball. Case in point: the ball has been rated 12 times, with an overall rating of 3.83. WStan rated it twice at 2.0. His ratings are well below average for the ball. Neither his rating or his story add up.

nxt distance

Summary:
i dont know what wstan was saying but he sure played the he77 out of that ball. and putting is where most of my balls either stay in my bag or are used fer the toilet shots. the short game is where i feel these balls really work from 100 yards out these balls stop dead no forward release and no spinning back off the green they just sit there. as for putting they roll instantly like a strata not the skip a bit of the topflites. im not a good golfer but these balls help a lot. play a ball from 10 years ago (freakin rocks were better)

titleist nxt distance

Summary:
I love this ball. I've generally been playing TopFlite XL2000's for the past few years out of mainly economic concerns. In the last year or so though, as i've begun to shoot consistently in the low eighties and sometimes upper seventies i've been experimenting with various balls to see if they make any difference. I like the XL2000's but have always disliked the hardness and lack of feel with them. Tried Maxfli noodles and Precept ladies on friends recomendations but found them neither softer nor farther. Even tried a couple of V1's a found on a course but noticed nothing special about them. The NXT Distance balls felt immediately different. Instant feedback and softness on iron shots. No more clank as with the XL2000's. Just a great 'feel' ball. Holds greens well and is a joy to putt with too. Off the tee I don't notice any extra distance as compared to other balls but still feel the difference. Doesn't encourage slicing or side spin as other review said. If anything I think I hit this ball straighter. I don't like spending 2 bucks plus per ball but this is the first ball i've played that i feel warrants it. Great ball. And they are very durable too.
