905S 8.5 Grafalloy Blue X

Summary:
I read loads of reviews before taking the plunge and picking up a used 905S on ebay for £50. Didn't think I could get better than the G2 I was fit for on the launch monitor but so far this club is fantastic. Very clean looking club that sits nicely behind the ball at address and I barely notice it's 60cc smaller. My club head speed with driver is about 120mph and I like not feeling the air resistance of the club head on the downswing compared to the Ping. Whilst it does launch lower than the Ping it's not a huge difference. Impact sound is similar to the 975D I had, to be honest a bit dull but no big deal. The swingweight also feels substantially heavier than the stock Ping which is nice. Drives are huge and it's much easier to shape the ball either way. Fantastic club.

Titleist 905s 10.5

Summary:
I bought this club on ebay for $70. I had the local golfsmith guru change the shaft to a Graphite Design YS-6+ stiff shaft with the spine positioning(aka Pured). He gave me a red Golf Pride Tour Velvet Cord grip. The total cost was a $185 investment.I have had problems in the past regarding side spin with lower lofted club faces of 9.5 or 8.5. A strongly believe that you can achieve just as much distance with a 10.5 with much more forgiveness and less exposure to side spin. I do hit the Titleist ProV1x. So the spin is even lower. But I do get the same results with range balls. The loft on the ball flight is fairly high, but not ridiculously high.
Now, instead of getting upset at the tee box over hooks and snap hooks, I get upset if I cant hit a draw or a high cut. Thats because its flying straight. I average about 240-260 yards with the club. I live in the west coast of Northern California. The air is moist and wind is always a factor regardless of the year. I believe that most of the courses here are below sea level. My favorite course is in Pacifica,CA called Sharp Park. There is a 30 foot levy on the 16th hole. Its also a course designed by the Mckenzie dude that built Augusta National Masters golf course. I could be wrong, but I saw that on print years ago.
Anyway, this club is only 400cc. But I would put it against any club at 460cc. Since it is not as big, I have the confidence to rip at the ball with no control issues. I like the deep face and the pear shape that Titleist is known for. I think that anyone who buys a 905s on ebay and get their shaft on it will get some success. I havent had a great result like this since when I had the Titleist 975D 8.5 with the EI-70+ shaft.
I just won an 8.5 Titleist 905s on ebay. I will be back with a report on it. But this time I will put a GD YS-7+ stiff to get the ball lower. Im excited about it. But it will not be my everyday club like my 10.5 YS-6+. aka Optimus Prime Driver!

titleist 905s driver 8.5 degree stiff v2 high launch shaft

Summary:
i bought this driver and first thouhgts were take it to the range, so i did! i hit about 100 balls that day with the driver, and was not very pleased, maybe because i had the speeder shaft on at the time, it was very whippy and poor! i changed to a v2 high launch shaft to compensate for the low degree angle. my god, what a change pattern i have had. i now hit drives as long as 280 yards at only a young age. the ball flight starts low and rises very high, very penetrating to say the least. the carry of this club is awesome, doesnt stop rolling, just carries the ball another 40 yards from where it landed, adding extra yards to drives, which i must say, is fnatstic!

overall this club is amazing, the sound is quality, the feel is impecable, the looks are stunning, and the small head drives my confidence very high. i have a titleist driver, wood and hybrid, along with mizuno mp60 irons, and a titleist vokey spin milled 58 degreee wedge!
my set is basically perfect for me, just need to practice at being more consistent at my driver and my game will improve drastically.

but all i can say, get one of these drivers if you are looking for a titleist driver, they are awesome!!*****

Titleist 905S

Summary:
I have been a driver junkie for years and have tried them all. I was spending hours in fitting simulators and on all sorts or launch monitors etc but when I got outside the results were always quite different than indoors.
It makes no sense that this setup should work for me (or this is what I was told) until I had it for about 5 minutes on the driving range. 905 S 9.5 with Speeder X Stiff.
I have been playing this since the beginning of the summer and it is soley resposible for dropping my hcp by many strokes because I am in the fairway 75-80% of the rounds that I have played. Even on extremely tough driving courses that used to make me shake just thinking about the tee shot I just let it rip and it almost always finds the fairway and is very long. Has a great sound and feel to it as well. Even the mis hits try to stay on line and the misses are manageable. So don't believe what you read or hear you really need to take something outside and hit it, watch the ball flight and distance. I think the indoor stuff is way overated at least this has been my experience and I giot this for 150.00.
Nothing beats a Titleist.

Titleist 905S 9.5 Speeder stiff

Summary:
I am 53 years old and have socks older than most of you guys! I card 85-95 most of the time. I cannot hit it 300 yards as my handicap would indicate. I hit 230-240. I have a problem than very few golfers have: I fight a hook or pull from short irons to the driver. I have an Azinger like grip: super strong with an inside approach. I try to hold on. When I do release, thus the hook. Most newer drivers I have tried are offset, along with a draw biased face or at the minimum of 1-3 degrees closed to help the 80%-85% who slice. I bought this Titleist 905S on ebay ($84.00) and I have YET found a way to hook it (with my grip). With an 18 hcp player, anything is possible, but right now I wouldn't take anything for it. With a superstrong grip, I can actually get a power fade! I NEVER new what a fade was until I hit this 905S. I can actually bananna slice it. I know that doesn't sound like progress, but when you can hook it like I can, it is a monumental step up. Just thought this might help those FEW of us who hook the ball. It really was designed for the better player. If so, why did it help my game? Don't believe all you read. Even this review. Try it if you fight a hook. You may be surprised. Happy slicing??? I mean it!
