Summary:
Just started playing golf 3 months ago. When it came to driving, I sucked, driving the ball a whopping 150 yards and hooking the ball hard right. As soon as I found a consistant swing, I decided to invest in a reasonable driver. The Deep Red II was perfect. Now I am capable of driving consistantly straight over 250 yards and had a 315 yard drive on the course that plopped yards from the green. If I have turned around this much, I believe anyone who is starting should invest in this massive club. You can purchase the club for under $150 on ebay or at a proshop. I am now contemplating investing in the Wilson Fat Shaft IV iron set as well.

Summary:
Got this recently on Ebay for cheap. I like the way it sets up to the ball and it's a beautiful looking club. Brought it to the range though and found that I just could not hit it straight. The odd one that did go straight went very far but 95% of the balls were snap hooks or nasty slices.
I have one with a stiff shaft as I have a swing speed around 110. Anyway, brought it to a golf shop and the fitting pro told me that the grafalloy shaft in the driver is very weak for a stiff shaft. The problem is that because wilson uses the extra thick shafst, you can't just replace the stock shaft with any one you choose. So I am currently trying to get my hands on an X stiff shaft from Wilson or Grafalloy.
I think that if you have the right shaft this would be a very nice club for mid to high handicappers

Firstly, let me start with saying that I have always been a fan of the driver. Although many people don't like it, I love it. When me and my buddy went to a demo day at Techumseh Golf (Canada)I was consistently driving an average of 250 yds with my taylormade r580. I tried the r580xd and thought it was amazing, and the Titeleist 983k, but dudn't like it. I tried practically every driver there when I decided "what the heck, I'll try the Wilson". Setting it up at address gave me alot of confidence because of its good looks and asthetics. I was really surprised. With the controlweave shaft, I could feel the head being kept square on the downswing. It went 284 yds, then on my 10th ball it went 306! I was amazed. My natural ball flight was a slight, 1-2 yard fade, and now the ball draws slightly which allows the ball to roll further. Occasionally, the ball will have a heavy fade or draw, but it pretty much always stays in the short stuff, and if not its in the rough just off the fairway. Make the choice, go deep!

Summary:
Forgiving. This club is incredibly forgiving. Sometimes its size hinders your feel but this driver is definitely long. It's probably good for higher handicappers but anyone will do pretty well with it.

I paid 100 bucks for it at a golf sale.

just had a lesson with my club pro and tried this driver and i have been slicing my drives badly but all drives i hit went straight or with a touch of fade large head gives a lot of confidence at address. golf pride softie grip grafalloy 428 reg graphite shaft with control weave and torque control. apparently helps to not slice. only hit about 15 times so early days as of yet. will post when i have played with it properly.
