Summary:
Without doubt one of the most beautiful forged blades on the market. Performance is as you might expect: lots of feel. Well struck shots give the butterly sensation only forged irons can provide. The DG 300S shafts are fine and do what you expect them to do. With the Fg59's you get what you see: high end players irons with a stunning look.

Summary:
Hi i was looking for a review of my wilson fg55's i have a rare set of these gems which are very sought after now, regarding former comments about these even existing my local pro sourced me these when i was a young junior and i will never change them, im a capable amatuer been playing since i was 3 years old so ive played alot of clubs, theyre is no other blade i can control like these, that may be down to the time ive spent with them but they are very rewarding, the only downside i would say is the distances, for example almost any other blade 8 iron 150 but the 55s a solid 130yds, but the thing is for that 130 they go exactly where i point them!! as folk have already stated i will never part with these clubs!!!

Summary:
Bought a set of FG-49's 2-9 with original Firestick 3.5 steel shafts from a Play it Again Sports in greeat shape for $14, had the lies and lofts adjusted and let me tell you they feel so smooth. I've been looking around for any info on this model as the Wilson website has nothing on them, and have only been able to find the FG-17 and 51. Regardless of when they were made they have made their way into the bag on a few occasions and to be honest I don't see much difference if any between these and my Bridgestone J33 Combos as far as distance and accuracy. Though I normally shoot in the low 80's, it's normally a function of my 36 putts per round. If you can get your hands on these sticks, do so, you won't be disappointed. Off to work on the short game!!

Summary:
I have owned these irons since new in 1982, and suffice it to say, I've told my wife that I want to be buried with them when I die.
Describe them in few words: the most unforgiving club around, but the most rewarding club around. Work with them, learn them and you won't play anything but forged blades. The thin line at address is appealing and helps to align the club.
What I love the most is the extreme workability. I can make the sublest of address adjustment with stance and grip, and know exactly how the club will react and the resulting ball flight. My golf buddies are still amazed that I can fade,draw,fade,draw,punch,fly on demand. Now, not every shot is exactly what I draw up, but that's where the feedback comes in. Blindfold me and I'll tell you with pretty good accuracy where the ball ends up and how it got there. You can't do that with any cavity-backed club I've swung.
The favorite part of my rounds (usually with at least one new acquaintance) is when the newly met partner asks politely if they can swing 'em. I've had a few offer me cash on the spot for the irons. No dice. Like I said: They'll be buried with me.
I once showed them to a muni pro, and he offered to buy them because I shouldn't be playing with them if not scratch. He took a Sharpie and drew the sweetspot on the face of the 5-iron. The circle was smaller than a dime. But let me tell you, if you hit that 'dime' it's like no other feeling in golf.
I'm now approaching 50 and have noticed the change in distance I can carry, but the new drivers have helped. I will fight tooth and nail to avoid having to move on to easier to hit clubs. Instead, I plan to invest more range time, which always offers a good return on the investment! Also, another excuse to get out of the house. In the meantime, the clubs are locked away where nobody can see them...

Summary:
When I play badly and feel like quitting the game, I pull my Wilson Staffs out from under the bed and everything is back to normal. I own about eight different models and I have used every type of iron you can name. Nothing beats Wilson Staff forged blades. From the Dynapowers to the 1976 classic muscle- backs, nothing compares. I know because I have owned over 200 different sets of other irons.
