Model Reviewed: Affinity 460 Cube 12.5 Driver

My wife and I were at a flea market recently and noticed a bag of clubs in the corner @ 50% off. She was just going to buy a 5 iron out of the bag, but I told her to just grab the whole bag since it was only $12.50. Well when we returned home I went through the clubs and noticed the Affinity 460 light flex 12.5 Cube Driver. I thought it looked similar to my Square Bear driver so I tossed it into my bag to give it a try the next day. Wow! What a club...I can't believe how far and high the ball went...I almost can't follow the ball to its final rest. I have many expensive drivers, but none compare to this fine club; and for just about .25 cents I can't believe it. The flex is perfect and I now drive many of the course holes. I asked my wife to give the club to me since she really only wanted the 5 iron from the bag, but after she hit the cube...she too got lots of distance. Needless to say she's keeping it. Yesterday I found the same club online at a used golf store for $19.99 and purchased it. I'm very happy; I hit this club much further than any other club ever.

Great club for the price. Of course it is not best looking club you'll find, but the ovrall performance of the club is exceptional for the $$.

Model Reviewed: Affinity Cube 460cc 10.5* driver

After trying out my grandson's Nike SQ 460 last week with good success, I decided to get a square 460* driver for myself. I decided not to spend too many $$$, so I bought a brand new Affinity from RockBottomGolf on eBay for $39.58 including the shipping. I'd never seen one before so I really didnt know what to expect. When I unwrapped it from the package & looked it over, I thought to myself....you get what you pay for. While the club's basic appearance is ok, closer inspection revealed more of a Dollar Store look than not. Poorly masked paint job on the head, ferrule not blended smoothly, and the Aldila shaft had a metallic blue sparkly rough textured finish like a toy & even the Winn grip was cheap looking. The headcover wasn't too bad tho, but kind of small. I checked the specs & it weighed 10-7/8 oz, a D-1 swingweight, & overall length of 45-3/4".
It felt light and easy to swing & the square head looked good at address, so today I took it to the course for a test drive. I was pleasantly surprised when the very first ball I hit with this club went dead straight down the middle of the fairway, and ended up about 30 yards farther that my normal drives with my Adams 363 driver. I continued to make mostly good, nearly straight hits for the entire round and easily averaged +30 yards to boot. I even tried a couple of shots off the fairway with some success. The Cube 460, while not a raving beauty, did an outstanding job right down to the last tee shot, and convinced me enough to give it a 5-star value rating, and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a thrifty new style driver that performs. I guess sometimes you get more than what you pay for!

This is an outstanding value for the money.I used this driver when I qualified for the CM tourney at Bidwell. It is very forgiving. As a matter of fact I confessed what I did to its sister and it still forgave me.
