First off, I hit the driver 260-270. My strength is accuracy. I don't hit the ball far, but far enough and I hit it straight. Second, this driver is $400.00 just like every other driver out there, so overpriced is not in the picture. Third, you can not compare this to any other club. It has different looks, feel and sound. I have the Aldila NVS 65 Stiff shaft in it and I swing 100 mph. I have a slower tempo, easy swing just to keep me under control. This driver is awesome. If you complain about the look or sound, then you're probably one of those players who says they shoot 70-75 but really shoots mid 80's. And you probably also play blades even though you really should be playing Nike Slingshot OS.
Back to the driver. It's a nice driver. Feel is nice, look is nice, and the sound is nice after you get used to it. It lowered my trajectory giving me more roll. People these days think that higher ball launch equals more distance. That's NOT true at all. If you hit the ball low-mid launch, you'll carry a good ways than get roll. If you hit the ball mid-high launch, you'll get more carry, but NO roll. If it's windy, forget carry all together. This driver in the Tour form keeps the ball penetrating and if you get the right launch angle (degree) you'll get a nice bounce and good distance. The perfect ideal situation you want with a driver is to hit the ball low-mid launch, have it carry a ways, then hit the ground, bounce about 7-10 feet in the air then roll. That tells you you have the ideal launch angle for your club. This club is amazing. Buy it!!!!

I have played every club on the market for the past fifteen years. Callaway has done wonders with this driver. I have a FT3 Tour 9.5 Draw and a neutral in my bag. The only legit complaints I hear about the fusion line of drivers is the sound-get used to it! I average 320+ off the tee and earn about $300 bucks a weekend off of all the old guys at the club that still refuse to accept the advances in technology. Change is here guys. Buy it now-buy two (thanks Phil).

Customer Service

Callaway is awesome, never a problem. I have been playing their products since the early 90's.

Model Reviewed: callaway ft3 fusion tour 9.5 prolaunch

I have tried nearly every driver on the market , trying to gain that extra yardage without losing accuracy. I've read a lot of these reviews , most of which are valid ( some that are just nonsence ). I just thought ( for anyone who's interested ) I'd share my best find as far as drivers go .
I for a long time have been a titleist fan , and had all of thier drivers from 975J - 905T . I was not a Callaway driver fan , even though I like thier irons. I have been losing distance with the driver over the last 3-4 years and just put it down to a combination of age + weight. One of my regular golfing buddies was starting to hit the ball 15+ yards past me , when I was used to hitting 10+ past him . Until I found the FT3 fusion. I tried it with the stock shaft ( as I'm a firm believer that top golf companies design the heads to go with the shafts and vice-versa ) but found I couldn't control my dispersion. I then tried the prolaunch grafalloy in a 65 gram stiff, with a neutral setting and 9.5 loft , I am without a doubt hitting this longer and as straight as any driver I have ever tried. I'm not one of these guys who claim an average of 295 off the tee , I would say my average is around 250-260 but I've hit a few long ones since I got this. My clubhead speed is between 94-102 on a launch monitor , so I was a bit wary about the stiff prolaunch , but my doubts were wrong as I'm hitting this the best I've hit a ball in about 4-5 years.
I understand it's horses for courses and this will not be suited to most , but the FT3 is well worth a look and will be staying in my bag. Hope this is of help to somebody out there.
Forgot to say I got mine from edwin watts $400 and receive a fairway wood free , excellent !

Customer Service

Never needed it , but according to friends they are second to none.

6 handicap with a lot of drive issues. Got the 9.5deg Tour with stock NVS stiff shaft and this club is great. Easy to work left to right which is my shot shape and when you hit it flush it really goes. Bad shots still seem to fly well and was hitting about 240 on mis-hits on the range which is good for me and dispersion was very small which is way different from my old Titleist. Normal drive is between 250-260. Had Titleist 905T and sweetspot on this club is much bigger and can work it easily both ways. Great club! Also tried Hi-Bore and R7 and neither compare to the FT-3 for a fader like me. Evaluated on launch monitor before buying and was the only club I could work left to right and not lose tons of distance. Face is slightly open as well which sets up nice to go either way and not just hit draws like the Hi-Bore and even with R7.

Excellent club. It contains good technology that makes the ball easier to get straight down the fairway. I bought mine with the NVS stock shaft in a stiff flex but later switched to the Proforce V2 which has a stiffer tip and keeps the flight down for my swing. The club's performance hasn't changed. It still rocks the ball off of the tee with a controlled tempo and workability.

I ordered X-18 Pro Series irons from Callaway and received them with the exact specifications I requested. Great irons.

This club is the most unforgiving club my friends or I have ever hit. Club is way over hyped and over priced. $400 is a steep price to pay for a club that performs this poorly. It sounds funny to hit, and gives the golfer no feedback on his shot.

Although I play other fine Callaway products (X-tour irons), HX 56 balls, White hot steel putter, I would not recommend buying this club for either an experienced or junior golfer.

Model Reviewed: Callaway Big Bertha FT3 Fusion Driver

I upgraded from a Callaway ERC Fusion Driver to the FT3 Fusion Draw Bias. I play to my slight fade and thought this Draw bias would help me keep the ball in the center of the fairway. Has not made that big of a difference.

What I'm really writing about is the quality of this club. The small "V" pad on the sole came off, when I first took my new driver to the driving range to tune it in. After about twenty drives, I checked the face to see exactly where I was hitting in the sweet spot. To my horror, the pad was gone and I had slight scratches on the painted sole plate. I found the pad a couple of feet in front of the tee. When I picked it up, the plastic "V" in the pad fell out. This pad was held in place with double sided tape. It was just stuck in there with tape! I thought, what poor quality Callaway has put into their equipment. The plastic "V" in the pad was also held in place with a sticky substance.

Has anyone had this same experience or heard of the sole pad coming out like this? I wrote to Callaway customer service about this quality issue and I am awaiting a reply.

I am a golfer that typically shoots in the high 70's. I got the FT3 to see what all the buzz was about. When hit on the sweet spot if goes like no other club I hit before. However, this club has a very small sweet spot, and you have to be a tour quality player in order to use it. I switched to Nike Sasquatch (never thought I would buy a Nike club.) and it is the best experience I ever had. I would not recommend the Fusion to a golfer going out only once a week.

I've hit almost all the driver's out there. I've had the cleveland launcher comp and the nakashima 460. Am now selling both them to get this driver. I borrowed it from my cousin and he has the graphite design prototype 702 in it. great club combo. hit a 365 yard drive with it downwind with it and it has a great penetrating ball flight which i didn't get with either of the clubs i had. I had the v2 stiff for the Nakashima and the red board diamana in the cleveland launcher. get get the stability when i swung hard. can work this ball great. harder to fade for me which was a problem with my previous club. I'm getting the same club made from my cousin who works for callaway for cheap. thanks hope this helps.
